    atleast we get credit for "blowing" the lead instead if KU taking it.

    Re: Some espn love

    If Iowa State is going to make the tournament, we have to respond to these two losses by winning the next three games. Obviously you do that one game at a time, but it's very doable with OSU in our house, then at Tech and at Texas. That will give us momentum for KU-ISU part deux as well.

    At Texas will be difficult but is one of those games that we have to start winning.

    Brennan likes to throw in little comments about Iowa teams, if he can. I believe he's from Davenport. Nice to see a little love.

    Would have been near the top in that rundown, with a win. (Nothing would have topped FSU-UNC crushing. Woah)

    Nice to still get a mention, but won't get much attention without a 4-0 record the next two weeks. Let's hope ISU can get it done.

    9 predicted conference wins is interesting to hear. That would put us at about 19-12. That is really close to the bubble.

    We look better in conference than UNI at this point. Ten points has been our worst loss so far.

    Re: Some espn love

    We will need 21 or 22 wins with conference tourney. That is if we beat a couple quality opponents such as Kansas, Baylor, or Mizzou.

    I think if we get 20 to 21 wins including the tourney, we will get in. ISU will make a very attractive pic for the midwest region. I mean, we haven't been to the tourney since 05 and we will travel well...the NCAA is all about money after all, and more fans in the stands are what they want

    That's not how the selection committee picks teams. How fan bases travel doesn't influence them at all.

    This. Otherwise two years ago UNC would have played in the NCAA Tournament instead of finishing second in the NIT...

    I think 9-9 comes up short this season, although could bring a little bubble talk along the way.

    It might depend on whether good wins (if they come) carry more weight than bad losses. It's a numbers game at this point. To get enough quality wins at 19-12/9-9, we'll have to see some bad losses.

    Final 14 games, in order using an informal continuum: from games ISU can least afford to lose, to games when a win is most beneficial (location of games has an effect):
    Tech
    OSU
    OU
    A&M
    @Tech
    @OSU
    KSU
    @OU
    @UT
    Baylor
    @KSU
    KU
    @Missouri
    @BU

    The precise order is up for debate, but my point here is, it's possible to win 7 more games without beating a single tournament team.

    While that may be true, if we want to make the tournament as a bubble team we are going to have to have a win or two (if not more) against tournament teams to make us attractive enough for the selection committee.

    In my opinion, we need to be at least at the 11-7 mark in conference play to be tourney-bound.

    I agree with this short of going 10-8 and losing in the conference tournament championship, or (obviously) winning the conf. tourney.

    But if 11-7 is the goal that means that 9-5 from here on out is what ISU has to be shooting for. For that goal to remain realistic the Cyclones have to win three of the next four, which almost certainly would include both of the new two.

    Time to turn it on
