    Watched Georges Niang Play Yesterday....

I got the opportunity to watch Tilton play Notre Dame Prep yesterday here in Boston, and I am even more excited to have Georges on the squad now. These two teams are just LOADED with talent....it was practically like watching a Div I game.

Georges has great skill, can finish from just about anywhere (including from behind the arc), and his body control is amazing. He seemed to always be in the right place at the right time....the type of things that you can't see on the stat sheet (although his stats were impressive too: 27 pts, 8 rebs, 5 asts). He worked very hard and seems to have a passion for the game.

It was a very competitive game...Tilton was down by 8 or so midway through the 2nd half, but then started feeding it to Georges, and he led a rally (along with Wayne Seldon, who is great) to get it back to even. Georges then sealed it with 2 free throws with just a few seconds left (after his teammate hit a CLUTCH 3 to put them ahead).

As we know, Nerlens Noel (Rivals' #3 for 2013) is an athletic freak, but his skills are unrefined. He reminds me of a young Marcus Camby or John Henson. The player who really surprised me was Wayne Seldon (Rivals' #12 for 2014). This guy can really ball, and as a sophomore was, along with Georges, the leader of Tilton. Goodluck Okonoboh (Rivals' #92 for 2013) is another amazing athlete that needs to develop his game. The Missouri commit, Domonique Bull, was not as impressive.

On the other side, Steven Adams (Rivals' #4 for 2012) made his debut for Notre Dame Prep, and was VERY impressive. Classic center, didn't really create his own shot, but was very skilled for someone his size. They didn't give him the ball enough, but I imagine that will change. Adonis Filer (#117 for 2012) can really play, and could be ranked higher than he is. They also had a few other nice players (including Myles Davis and Sam Cassell Jr.

Oh, and everyone should try and watch Tilton on ESPN today at 3 (central time). They play Brewster.....who is even more loaded than Notre Dame Prep. Should be a great game.....

I really like what Niang could be capable of getting set up by Royce's passing, he seems like a great slasher and is good in space, they could compliment each other well. A front line of Royce, Booker, Gibson and Niang is as deep/good as anyone else will have.

I agree completely with this. It's going to be a lot of fun watching those two work together.

So for those of you that have seen him play is Georges' game comparable to Doug McDermott?

No. Georges is back down in the post kind of player. He is limited athletically but does everything on the block well which makes him a tough match up. McDermott can step out and hit jump shots and threes, something Georges needs to work on.

Georges can hit threes quite well, actually.

Not really, Georges has a really polished post game and his game is stronger in that aspect. It's tough to tell just how good Georges will be as a frosh but I can see him at the very least being able to score, he's good with his back to the basket, facing up and his jumper is good enough that the defense has to respect it. Doug has a better floor game (he's 2 years older) but I'd give Georges an advantage in the post game.

It's similar in the fact that they both aren't super athletic, but they just get buckets. DM is one of the best players in the nation right now so talent wise they aren't really comparable.
