    Proud of these guys!

Sure we lost to the #9 team in the nation by 7, however im still very happy with where we are right now as a team. At the beginning of this season I was very worried about this team, especially after the Drake game. At that point it seemed we had no offense, couldn't rebound, we didn't hustle, we had no identity. Now we appear to have an offense, hustle alot more and have an identity and seem like we actually care. These guys have made a drastic change over the last few weeks. I think if we could have the preseason game back we might have went 13-0. If we continue to improve on things like Ft's and Rebounding we could end up finishing 4th or 5th in this conference. Go cyclones, lets go beat the Jayhawks!

I'm proud as well. There are some things we have to work at, but we're only 3 games into the Big XII. Should be a fun Big XII season.

    Re: Proud of these guys!

The three Chrises are playing better. Booker looks like he is more focused. Things are better except free throws are going down the toilet. The rebounding is getting lazier from our guards. SC has had a few lapses on defense.

I don't think this is weird at all. This team has never really played together in real game situations. Now they are on the court against the #9 ranked team in the nation and take it down to the wire. I say that is some progress. We can also look at the free throws and rebounds and maybe say we win this game by being positive on one of those stats. This team is going to surprise us on both ends of the wins and losses category. Let's just hope there is more surprises on the winning side. Have faith and this should be a fun year for basketball.

    Re: Proud of these guys!

Learning to win as a team and lose as a team is hopefully near the top of our priorities right now. But with our penetration presence in Allen, White, and SC, FT's should be a strong part of our game plan and shooting less than 70% as a team is unacceptable. I'm extremely proud of our boys for going toe to toe in a game that we could have easily been run off of the court a month ago.

My hate is not limited to just the Hawkeyes, I have plenty to go around for the Jayhawks and just Hawks in general.

    Very astute, and correct!

I'm proud of this team as well. They get better and better every game in some area. Ups and downs to be sure, but every team has that. These guys are getting more and more experience, and that will level out the hills and valleys.

I share your concern about FT's but I find the rebounding to be just as concerning. They were flat out out-hustled tonight on the boards on both ends of the court. And it wasn't like it was just a whole bunch of fluky long rebounds; our guys many times didn't get position and even if they did, they didn't block out.

As far as FT's, Fred needs to hire a hypnotist for Royce - or get Fennelly's staff to do the magic they did on Pop. Missed FT's are contagious. Even our good FT shooters were missing last night.

I like this team, but a frustrating game last night. I think I might have broken my TiVo remote.

Player of the game: Chris Babb with honorable mention to Christopherson. Babb's D was sick. He could have been POG without scoring a point. His threes were gravy. Scotty's drives and 3's were keeping ISU in the game. I cannot fathom how he ended up with only three assists.

    Re: Proud of these guys!

I am happy with the way they played the first half. This team needs to learn how to play coming out of the half. 10 points in 10 mins after half isnt going to win you many games, unless you play in the Big 10.

    Re: Proud of these guys!

I'm also proud of the team and I really think if Gibson could have played we probably would have won that game. We got outscored 40-20 in the paint and a lot of that was due to Royce being in foul trouble early. Gibson could have given us the rebounding and interior defense that might have made the difference. Will he be back Saturday?

    Re: Proud of these guys!

I’m proud of these guys too! With Palo and Gibson hurt we have a seven man rotation. The natural positions of these seven men consist of 4 Shooting Guards (Allen, Christopherson, Babb, and McGee), 1 Small Forward (Ejim), and 2 Power Forwards (White and Booker). All most every guy is playing out of their natural position at all times. This is especially evident at the Point Guard position. In many aspects we are overachieving.

Better Days Ahead and Go Cyclones!

    Re: Proud of these guys!

Booker had some good defensive stops. Some of those blocks reminded me of how Godfrey was showing some good potential at the end of last season.
