What the loss means for Iowa State: It means that the Cyclones aren’t good enough to squander key opportunities to pull away from talented squads. But they lost this game due to some fixable flaws. The Cyclones should still be a factor in the Big 12.

Re: Rebounding, FT's killer in loss to Mizzou

The bad thing about this game is that if they just would have rebounded better and a hit a few more free throws they would have won the game, the good news is that they didnt play all that good and still barely lost against a top ten team.

Even throwing out the rebounding, if they made some FT's then this game is completely different. Royce has never been a great FT shooter, but two airballs and one that may have grazed the rim? If he goes 50% it would have changed the game.

Frankly, I can handle Royce not shooting well from the line. Allen and Scotty missing 5 FTs is hard to handle though.

Scott went 5-for-6 from the line. Not sure it is fair to lump him into this conversation.

Yea, but AIRBALLING FT's?! So frustrating. If he could become even a mediocre FT shooter instead of flat-out abysmal, he would be so much more dangerous. Allen missing some as well was inexplicable and infuriating. CW said that FT's would be crucial and he was right. It was easily the #1 thing that cost us the game.

CFH is one of the best free throw shooters in the history of basketball, i am guessing he and Royce will be spending some quality one on one time over the next few days.

    I hate free throws.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

I'm not buying the "hand size" excuse anymore. The announcers were able to pick out like 2 or 3 other things that are wrong or weird about his shooting form that had nothing to do with him having big hands or his hand placement. He just needs to flat-out scrap his current shooting form and start again from the ground up.

i agree, i dont think Royce will ever be a great FT shooter and he does enough for this team already. Scotty and Allen as seniors and good shooter shouldn't have missed more than 1 combined. I know Scotty only missed one, but he missed it at a bad time...
