    Tuition Prices

I live in Denver and for the last 4 years CU has raised tuition prices. It is now $8900 a year for in-state students.

I know the economy sucks everywhere but I was wondering how ISU is handling this and what it runs per year?

    Re: Tuition Prices

It has slowly been creeping up the last few years as the state is giving less and less funding each year which is usually being passed onto the students.

I agree, really hope I can steer my boys to ISU but would settle for CSU or AF.

    Re: Tuition Prices

Damn, I knew about the engineering surcharges being implemented from when I was a senior... but really didn't realize it is now $1000/semester higher than most undergraduate majors for juniors and seniors.

    Re: Tuition Prices

I think the crazy thing is when I was a freshman in 2004 tuition was about $4,700 while now it is almost $7k. That is an increase of almost 50% in 7 years.

    Re: Tuition Prices

I might have gone to CU but it would have cost ~$40,000 a year to go there(out of state)

    Re: Tuition Prices

It will be interesting to see at what point the cost of college no longer offers a return on investment. It seems like major structural changes will be needed at some point. I saw an article that put the average cost of college for today's newborns at over $400K. Yes, it's possible that wages could rise enough to justify that type of cost, but it's hard to imagine given the negative state of the economy over the past 4 years.

I wonder if the student to teacher ratio has increased as well? Kind of a double punch in the gut.

Whoa, that is per semester? Yeah, those have gotten crazy.
