Will crowd stand and be loud?

With all these thread about students showing up, I thought it might be appropriate to hold the non student folks responsible a bit. When we go on a run and the other team calls timeout dont go completely silent when play restarts.

Stand more often and don't yell at people who are standing. There are 10,000 of you, and if you want Hilton to be loud you can make it loud. No excuses. Right?

I'll be loud but standing up, as far up as I'll be, won't make much of a difference.

Re: Will crowd stand and be loud?

Iowa State hasn't been in this position (even though its early) since the last time we had Hilton Magic. TRUST ME, the crowd will be loud. People are making a fuss on how quiet its been this year - 1. Students had football to focus on 2. After football, UNI and Iowa were the only games the student section had an opprotunity to be loud. UNI wasn't a great showing, but Iowa was. And I can tell you, it will be louder at conference games then against Iowa because its Iowa basketball. No one needs to worry about the crowd tonight, it will be alive.

Some of the players told me that if the crowd shows up and is loud, they will play better for us. But if we don't, we can go **** ourselves. The players performance will be strictly based on how loud the crowd gets, and not the opposite.

If the depends is dry you sit and if it is wet you stand?

Re: Will crowd stand and be loud?

I would point at that one does not need to stand to make a lot of noise, and I am one who stands a lot during games.

Agree about the need for the crowd to stay after it after timeouts...

Re: Will crowd stand and be loud?

I would love to see them try some new things tonight in terms of creating and maintaining an atmosphere. At the OSU football game they tried some different songs in different places and the crowd REALLY responded. I'd like to see something similar tonight.

Re: Will crowd stand and be loud?

Here is the plain and simple fact; If ISU plays with hustle and heart, the people in Hilton will make it hostile. I've seen the place with ~10K (see the Houston game a couple years ago) make it very loud. These threads are dumb.

That's usually how it goes. Most players will just stand still and give you the bird unless you're cheering for them.....

We have a winner. Team plays hard and is in the game, the crowd will be there. The Texas game was a prime example. Even without the students, the crowd was pretty impressive. Throw in the students tonight and the place will be rocking.

Re: Will crowd stand and be loud?

I'll cheer but other than the national anthem and most playing of the fight song I won't be doing much standing. Standing is overrated - especially if done for an entire game and yes that includes football.

I never did understand the stand and cheer during timeouts and sitting during game. I tend to think opposite
