    I don't have a good answer for this. I remember when he didn't play much, but I didn't realize he played so little until his 3rd/4th year. Revisionist history in my brain.

    Someone else who truly knows should answer, rather than me. He seemed erratic and a little one-dimensional he could shoot, but may not have had other tools (such as playing defense, rebounding, etc.). He became a little more well-rounded, and plenty of other players were there by then to fill in the gaps.

    I don't recall the opponent, but he got garbage minutes in a game at Hilton his freshman year. We're talking less than 4 minutes (he came off the bench along with, I think, Wes Wallace and Eli Parker). He shot every time he touched it, and finished in double figures.

    I still didn't answer your question.

    I think you probably came close. He was instant offense off the bench, but I seem to recall that he wasn't doing as well at other things.

    I remember we used to call him "point a minute" because he would come in and immediately score. A few times he didn't come in until 3-4 minutes left and he'd end up in double figures. I don't know why he didn't play more those first two or three years. It couldn't have been because of defense or rebounding -- none of Johnny's teams did those things!
