I would think there is good money to be made by LHN selling the rights to broadcast stations in the opponents home market, but you're right, there's no way any LHN games ever show up on ESPN3.

Yup, it's usually going to be on KFXA or KCRG 9.1 or 9.2, but I almost wish someone like KWKB would just bite the bullet and just show ALL of the Big 12 Network games in HD.

It is possible because ISU and the Big 12 have a crappy TV deal. We can get ACC games in Des Moines yet we cannot get all the ISU games. The Big 12 really needs someway to get all their games out there, for all to see.

I have Dish Network with the sports pack, and they are showing the ISU vs. KU game on one of the HD alternate channels in the 450's....same thing with Mizzou on Wednesday night....The Dish Network sports pack has been totally worth the money with Red Zone and now all of the Big 12 network games since I am in Eastern Iowa.

I don't want that, only because I can't get them in my rabbit ears, lol. Maybe I'll send an e-mail to KCRG telling them I can do without 24-hr weater on 9.3 for 2 hours if it means they can televise the game Saturday.

That is ridiculous, and it's actually the same in Eastern Iowa. I watched the 2nd half of Wake Forest-Virgina Tech while I waited for our game on Saturday.

Which ISU games have not been available in Des Moines? By my count, just the Providence game -- and only because that wasn't televised at all.

    Mediacom22 is borderline "available".

Re: ISU at Texas on LHN

Cedar Falls Cable is showing that both Mizzou and Kansas are on ESPN3.com. For other games they list Fox or KCRG so unless someone is picking it up at the last minute, I'd guess they aren't on.

For the Texas games they list Longhorn Network (TBA). I hope that means there is something in the works to show it in Iowa. I don't know if that'll help anyone outside of the state though.

This sounds correct. I found this post about the OSU deal.
    UGH. (Basketball TV) | OrangePower.com

"Big 12 spokesman Rob Carolla said as a third-tier game, the Cowboy Sports Network could make arrangements to televise the game from the Frank Erwin Center in Austin. OSU athletic spokesman Mike Noteware said Learfield Communications is considering making it a local broadcast.
The OSU telecast is one of three Big 12 men's games that the Longhorn Network plans to air. The other games are home dates against Iowa State at 8 p.m. Jan. 24 and Texas Tech at 6 p.m. Feb. 4."

I would think Learfield would do the same for CTN.

Have Mediacom pay LHN and send bill to Missouri and Texas A&M to pay for it from their exit fees and were settled....

Mediacom could learn a thing on how to get great picture quality thats on LHN im sure as their picture quality sucks on Connections22....

Having them on Medicom doesnt make them available to many people.

Nevertheless, they were certainly available to people in DSM, which easily refutes the other post. Just because you choose to have satellite doesn't make it Mediacom's fault that you can't watch the game.

Might want to check your facts. That was JP's choice, not ESPN's. He wanted to force more CloneZone subscriptions, therefore he kept ISU's 3rd tier rights in-house.
