    NFL Instant Replay

Why is it the head coaches job to judge the officials made the right call?

    Just seems backwards to me.

Every play is reviewed in college by an official upstairs. If the officials on the field screw up, the official upstairs reviews it and corrects it. If it's blatantly obvious that an official screwed up in the nfl game, the coach has to strategically (because he only has 2 challenges) decide whether to throw the flag and have the call reviewed.

I agree with the OP. No reason to turn getting the call right into some strategic mind game. Just fix your screw up and move on.

Thank you. It shouldn't be the coaches job to police the officials. The league should do that, we have the tech to get the calls right. Also screw this ref going under the hood ********. There should be a guy in the booth, just like college.

    Re: NFL Instant Replay

The thing I hate the most is that the number of challenges is limited. I'd also love to see refs held accountable for making bad calls.

Like that call where the ref was staring right at the Saints guy come down with the ball in the back of the end zone and had to see the ball move, he was 2 yards away at most in perfect position.

Terrible, at least replay got it right.
