Colorado first in Pac-12. In MBB.

Yes, I know, it's Week 1 of conference play, and I didn't compare the league's matchups.

But it isn't something you'd expect to see.

The only team without a conference loss. Granted, one win was vs. Utah (by 40!).

I knew there was a reason they went to the Pac 12 since football obviously was not that reason...

They beat a pretty good Washington team last night by about 20 with several NBA scouts in the arena. Will be interesting to see if they can keep it up on the road as the first 3 are at home.

Most of the teams they will play probably have never been to Boulder for a game. I think the argument is probably over-rated, but as we have all seen many times, the altitude up there can have an affect on an away team over the course of a game.

Pac 10 is awful this year. There was an article on SI that said they may be the worst power conference ever. In non-conference play, they went something like 2-20 against the Top 50 and 12-36 against the Top 100. Several teams with records like 4-9.

Pac12/ACC will at best get 5 teams total (out of 24!) in the tourney this year. plenty of open spots available for the rest of us.

Was it last year or the year before where many thought they didn't deserve a second NCAA tournament bid?

Hold up here, I think we can all agree that no Pac 10 teams should be referred to as "pretty good" this season. This is a Washington team that lost by 20 at home to South Dakota St after all.

Not to get off topic, but the Guy on a Buffalo beer at Olde Main was pretty tasty.

I think that was 2009-10 season.

Pac-10 was "typical for BCS conference" last season.

SDSU might win the Summit this season which is sort of like saying it's OK to lose by 20 at home to a Valley team.

    So yeah, UW is weak.

It gets even more bizarre, though (in a Big-12-negative way) --- UW also beat Oregon State, which beat Texas. On the flipside, Washington lost by only 6 to Duke (which appears slightly overrated right now) and 2 to Marquette (when ranked 11th).

Anyone who claims college basketball regular season isn't interesting they don't follow it.

Re: Colorado first in Pac-12. In MBB.

Watched UCLA hold off Arizona last night to move a game above .500 overall. Cal, which was ranked earlier, lost at Oregon State, 92-85. OSU shot over 60% for the game. Guess the Bears left their defense in Berkeley.

I think at this point you can flip a coin as to which two teams will be fighting it out for the top two spots in the league by March 1st. Maybe they'll have a twelve-way tie for 1st (or last, depending on how you look at it) with everyone finishing at 9-9. Wouldn't that be fun?

Colorado has as good a shot at doing well as any other team out there. Bet they're happy they're not in the Big 12 for hoops anymore (the women are off to a good start also at 12-1 so far). Or at the very least, happy they don't have to come to Hilton for their near-automatic loss every year.

All people who make sweepingly generalized, stupid, uninformed comments are idiots.

    (maybe)
