Good to see Dedric involved with the team. They can learn from his competitiveness, but so could most people. Also, Royce with a good observation on the reffing. You expect a physical game and they call everything.

I also liked Royce's comment ... first sentence, I thought it he was setting up a chance to complain; but he gets that you have to adjust.

Closed-door w/ Willoughby may have come at a good time. Maybe it was purely coincidence, but it obviously didn't hurt.

What is Willoughby doing these days? Is he working within the athletic department? Still in Ames?

The guy has some serious credibility. I still haven't seen anyone work hard than Willoughby on the court. I also haven't seen many who could run full speed all around the court behind screens and then stop dead to nail a shot. Brings back good memories!

It's amazing that Royce had those issues earlier. The guy seems so level headed, I would never have guessed. Class act. Gotta love Willoughby!

Can't really say I disagree Royce. But that's when happens when you have two of the refs who call the most fouls in the country.

Willoughby comes in with the "we've paved the way" speech. Freaking Classic...Gotta Love It.

I started watching the Clones in the Barry Stevens days (essentially when the television was invented) and there is no Cyclone I have enjoyed watching more than Willoughby.

Anybody else slightly disappointed we played with such little effort and intensity at home, in a Big 12 opener, after a closed door meeting featuring Dedric Willoughby?

Perhaps, but then I would also be damn impressed with how much talent this team has to beat Texas with such little effort and intensity.

Personally, I'll take better play over more intensity and effort (Aaron Rodgers over Tim Tebow).

Willoughby was quite possibly my favorite Cyclone to watch. He used to pull up from about 28 ft with a defender in his face and bury 3's.

Re: NOTEBOOK: Booker's 3's, Willoughby calls out the Clones

Willoughby is working in Ames for the ALL IOWA ATTACK AAU team as a coach. Him and I have gone to every home game together and he is very close to this team. He says this team has more talent than his team ever did. They have to want to play D and work harder. He is hoping to get a shot as some level of coach either (preferred at ISU) or will probably follow Floyd at UTEP. We are at all of the home games so please stop by and say hello to one of the best Cyclones of all time.
