Some of those aren't flagrant fouls. Hard fouls? Yes. Flagrant? No.

He doesnt look like hes doing them trying to be a ****. He looks extremely uncoordinated. And partially mentally handicapped.

Re: Horrible Fouls From a Highschool Game.

As a coach, how on earth could you allow that to keep happening? The refs obviously sucked something terrible, but the coach that allowed for that to keep happening is just wrong. I do appreciate how the other teams players keep their cool and not get bent out of shape. As those wiser than I have said, what goes around, comes around.

Re: Horrible Fouls From a Highschool Game.

The big kid was either doing it very much on purpose, or is mentally handicapped because, at least going by his body language, he saw nothing wrong with what he was doing. I don't see anything wrong with any of these, individuall, except the last one. All of them put together though suggest something was up.

I some what agree with this accept for after the one really bad foul he had a smirk on his face. If I was the coach there is no way this ked would be on my team. These two are clearly don't understand the rules of basketball and should not be allowed to play. Not by the State athletic association or by the refs but by their coaches. This is entirely the coaches fault and this breeds streetball behavior. Bush league.

1st-He was going for the ball. It doesn't look that bad in slow motion.
2nd-I don't see why you think this is flagrant. Going for the ball and actually got the ball by knocking it out of bounds.
3rd-Close. Maybe 34 just has a really slow reaction to the ball fake? He didn't hit him in the head so I wouldn't have called it flagrant.
4th-Flagrant. He clearly pushed a player right in front of the ref and wasn't going for the ball.
5th-REALLY BAD. It looked like 34 had a hold of the player's neck while throwing him to the ground. A broken neck could have resulted if the player had fallen correctly. If this isn't a flagrant foul I don't know what is...34 should have been ejected.
6th-Not that bad. 34's problem is he can't jump which is why when he goes for the ball he ends up fouling.

Pretty much how I would have called them, except I probably would have put #3 at flagrant as well. Unbelievable that 34 wasn't tossed #5.

Re: Horrible Fouls From a Highschool Game.

There is much more going on than meets the eye. The second one occured with 6:55 on the clock in a game where the home team had scored 2 points. They were trying to do something from the outset of the game. Notice on one of the dozen replays of each play that he fouler gets a low five from a teammate. This seems like using football players to make basketball players pay for something in the past. And yes, the coach is very much to blame.

Re: Horrible Fouls From a Highschool Game.

I'm just guessing but it looks to me like it's probably a JV game, in which case you sometimes get inexperienced and yes ****** refs who don't have the balls to make those calls. The first one, I could see someone saying OK the kid is just a clutz and keep an eye on it but when it happens again you have to step up and make a call.

My biggest question is how do these guys see playing time? They don't look coordinated at all

Re: Horrible Fouls From a Highschool Game.

There is a brief article on Yahoo about this and the coach is also quoted as referring to fatty as a "big teddy bear" and said he stands behind his players.
I think he might have cut his own throat with those comments and rightfully so.
