    Offense

I don't pretend to be a coach, but I would sure like to run an offense like Wisconsin. Similar to Stanford. Does anyone else think that is a better match for CPR's personality? I just don't think throwing 50 times a game is the answer for us. Look forward to everyone's thoughts.

We run the ball a significant amount more than we throw it. Just because you are spread out, doesn't mean you are pass heavy. Also, please look at the WIsconsin Oline classes.

    I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU

    Or so I have read.

    Re: Offense

Since we cannot out-muscle/recruit other teams in the Big XII, I am fine with keeping our spread. It evens the tide if we're athletically out-matched.

I do agree though, that we should run the ball more, and we can do that out of the zone read look.

I'd love to have top 10 offense too! But we don't have Andrew Luck, Russell Wilsion, Monte Ball or Wiskys o-line.

No. I want an offense similar to ours, except one that works. You can still run very effectively out of the spread, but you can also take advantage through the air if they start cheating in. We just need one of our QBs to be more accurate and we will be fine.

    Re: Offense

I think the Cyclone Fanatic banner needs a statistic showing that ISU ran more than they threw this year. Where did this idea that we throw 50 times a game come from?

You can talk about switching offenses all you want but the staff has spent three years recruiting and running the spread, the new OC is going to run a similar offense.

If we are just going to name good offenses and say I wish we ran an offense like that, I'll nominate Oregon.

I'll take whatever scores a lot of points on teams other than just TTU.

Yep. Our offense right now is a lot like a slower paced, less athletic, and far less talented version of Oregon. We spread it out and go with an option-read attack.

We did throw a lot in the Okie State game... I think. Pretty sure out of our 100 snaps, at least 50 of them were throws. Mostly screens.

    Re: Offense

I feel the Wisconsin offense would be more advantageous due to the mammoth o-lineman that ISU has been able to recruit, also it would be a niche offense at this point, with KSU being the only big 12 to run anything that resembles a typical B1G offense...That would be beneficial to run an offense that can take so much time to give ISU's resurgent defense to rest on offense. It doesn't seem like that the spread attack works well with teams of ISU's recruiting stature, unless a chase daniel or todd reesing falls through the cracks at QB, and receivers like Kerry Meier, Dezmon Briscoe or TJ Moe, coming from coal to diamonds in 2-3 yrs....

    Re:Offense

We've seen accuracy as an issue. But, it doesn't matter who's throwing it if we can't get open. I think we've been in a situation where the QB can't find an open receiver and forces the ball ( which limits accuracy) a lot more than the QB's missing wide open guys. That's why I think route running is a huge issue and needs to be corrected.

    Re: Offense

I guess I'm just saying that a lot of the time we seem to be trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Guys like JB are probably never going to excel thowing like Oklahoma State or Houston. He could be successful in more of a Vince Young kind of role, where we run most of the time and throw to mix things up.

Maybe Richardson can be a Weeden type of QB, I don't know. I just know we screwed up the bowl game when we tried the Flea Flicker on 2nd and one, then abandonded the running game after that.

What mammoth offensive linemen are those? KO and Hicks are graduating.
