What did you guys think of Mohammad Sanu?

I know many here were saying that he wasn't a big 12 caliber reciever and din't compare with a Blackmon... I am curious on your thoughts now after the game (no flame intended)?

Obviously since we were leading most of the game we didn't pass much but he did get 62yds off 6 catches. He will be a possession receiver in the NFL good for moving the chains...

Did he play above, at or below your expectations? Just curious. Also how would he stack up against the other receivers in the pass happy B12?

He had 62yards. He will probably play in the NFL. Didn't light the world on fire last night.

Re: What did you guys think of Mohammad Sanu?

I'd say he was about at my expectations. I was expecting to see an above average wide-out with all the skills to be a #2 or #3 guy at the next level. He's good, but he's not Blackmon. Don't take that as an insult. Blackmon is arguably one of the top 3 receivers to play in college in the last 10 years. Sanu is not that. He's good, but he's not Jerry Rice.

Played good. Probably would play quite well in the Big 12. I don't know if he would crack the Top 3 though in Blackman, Broyles and Wright as I have just seen them play more but for sure would be top 5. Only other WRs I can think of that are great in the Big 12 are Stills from OU also.

    Was he injured?

Typical #1 or #2 WR for all teams in the Big 12, sans ISU.

Re: What did you guys think of Mohammad Sanu?

Yeah he is more of a clutch possession receiver then a home run threat. Our non-slot home run threats are Colemen and Harrison whom have been inconsistent this season. Our WR corp will improve though since they are pretty young.

He must be a really good route runner because we left him absolutely wide open a lot. Not as explosive as I thought he would be.

Re: What did you guys think of Mohammad Sanu?

All I saw him do is catch open passes and get targeted a **** ton. I guess he got open well, could be route running.

And nobody said he wasn't B12 caliber. He just wouldn't be top 3 or 4.

There were passes thrown throughout the game. Sanu did ok. Perhaps you noticed that Leonard Johnson is also going to be playing Sundays

Re: What did you guys think of Mohammad Sanu?

Pretty good player, and when we (ISU) fans compare him to Big 12 receivers, we need to keep in mind the QBs that play in the conf. The best WRs: Blackmon, Broyles, and Wright have Weeden, Jones, and RG3 throwing to them... Instead, Sanu has two different QBs to learn chemistry, timing, route adjustments with. One is a frosh, the other a soph.

That said, he's not Blackmon, and maybe not Broyles either. He was slightly below where I thought he was production-wise, but I did not figure he would kill us w/ Leonard Johnson playing him. RU fans are right to point to their success running the ball w/ Jamison as a reason he didn't produce more. I will point to us having a pretty good secondary though... I expect to see him on Sundays. This is the type of WR ISU needs to develop...

Re: What did you guys think of Mohammad Sanu?

    Nope he wasn't injured...

He can be a deep threat but this year we used him more as a guy to move the chains... As you saw he is very physical (doesn't shy away from contact) so gets nice YAC after short to intermediate passes. Our other WRs (Coleman, Harrison) were used more as deep threats. Quarron Pratt is also another could clutch possession receiver similar to Sanu...

We only threw it 24 times since our running game was working so well. We completed 13 of 24 passes due to some poor throws by our QBs and some NICE plays on the ball by your DBs (I was impressed with your DB play much of the time). Our WRs didn't really have the opportunity for many catches since we ran successfully so much and ate so much clock (35min time of possession compared to your 25min).

For comparison we had 42 rushing attempts vs 24 passing attempts... Probably our ideal offense especially when playing 2 young QBs...

Sounds like he is a good kid and hard worker. If he comes back and improves, he may make it at the next level.

I was impressed most by how LJ shut him down.

Actually he is projected as the 6th or so WR in this upcoming draft. If the updated projections put him in the 1st or early second round he will declare for the draft.

I think 6th is about right. Blackmon, Broyles, Wright, Jeffries.... Sanu...

Just guessing the players... Do you have the rankings?
