WBB RPI Update: Ready or not, here comes conference play

Here's the baseline RPI for Big 12 WBB heading into conference play next week. BF might be justified in his concerns and ranting about his team. Big 12 is the #1 RPI conference in the nation again. I predict an upset victory for the sisters at OU on Wednesday and a tight struggle with Baylor at home (Anna's "moment" with Griner). Tech is over-rated (AP poll top 15 with SOS #274), and I really hate those two Kansas schools.....

The best news for ISU about this is that every single Big 12 victory we get will be against a team ranked higher than us in RPI (at least early in the year), so we have the chance to rack up some quality wins and move up to make the NCAAs.

    1 Baylor 12-0 SOS 13
    8 Texas A&M 8-2 SOS 14
    21 Kansas St. 9-3 SOS 20
    37 Kansas 11-1 SOS 124
    54 Oklahoma St. 8-0 SOS 259
    57 Oklahoma 8-3 SOS 79
    59 Texas 10-2 SOS 125
    61 Texas Tech 11-0 SOS 274
    66 Missouri 9-1 SOS 193
    77 Iowa St. 8-2 SOS 185

Re: WBB RPI Update: Ready or not, here comes conference play

Oklahoma State dropped a game last night to Long Island in Reno, 64-63 and Tech struggled with San Diego, winning 58-57 @ USD. Kansas State escaped a not-very-good-this-year Marist team on the road, 57-56, on Thursday.

A lot of Big 12 teams are going to have growing pains this season. This year will be brutal (don't we say that every year?), but somehow we find a way to make it through. I believe it will get better and the girls will start playing more consistently. There will be some bumps, but they have the ability to figure it out.
