    Boundary Corner

    Probably not the right forum...

What is a boundary corner? (in football) I know what corner back is obviously but I do not know what is meant by boundary corner. Any help would be appreciated.

I have heard that mentioned a lot lately by analysts and they said that guy needs to be pretty sound. Seems to make sense to me.

    Thanks Wallen.

A boundary corner usually plays to the short side of the field(if ball is on the hash). He is usually on the single receiver side if the ball is in the middle and gets less safety help. Teams rarely line up in straight cover 1,2,3 or 4 any more and split the formation in half, with a 1 man advantage on the strong side and even coverage on the other. In a formation with 3 receivers on one side and 1 receiver on the other the boundary corner would be on the single receiver side by himself and 4 defenders committed to cover the 3 on the other side.
