Paul Rhoads - the Greg Schiano of the Big 12

There are so many similarities between these two coaches - Coach Schiano is a New Jersey native that has been at Rutgers for 11 seasons. Before he came to Rutgers, they had appeared in 1 bowl game - in Schiano's tenure they have a 5-1 record in bowl appearances. While I wish ISU's offense would have showed up today, there is no doubt in my mind that two of the best head coaches in College Football met up in Yankee Stadium today. I hope the fans recognize what a rare occasion it is to see two men of this caliber show such loyalty to the fans, student athletes and their home towns - a match-up like this doesn't happen very often. I hope to see Rutgers on ISU's schedule again the future - I just hope the outcome is different

Greg Schiano has a Micheal Strahan gap in his teeth, even Zach Geyer could make a field goal through that gaping hole.

Penn State would be stupid not to hire GS as their next coach.

Except... He was an assistant under Joe Pa in the early 90s before becoming the Miami Hurricanes' DC in the late 90s to 2000.

State Penn isn't hiring ANYone whom coached under Joe Pa with the Sandusky crap...
Also he turned down Michigan and Miami HC positions... He is NOT going to State Penn...

He will become OUR BEAR BRYANT!!!

PSU would be stupid to assume anyone who ever worked for Joe Pa is guilty of anything especially since Joe Pa has been there forever. GS is a very good coach and hope you guys can keep him.

It's a matter of perception. They want a clean break. They don't want ANYONE with ANY ties to Paterno or Sandusky working for State Penn football... NO good coach wants to coach there right now. It's a tough order to follow up the success of Joe Pa let alone assuming responsibility of bringing the entire program out of the cesspool this pedophilia scandal has wrought...

That's going to be hard to do. If you've had anything to do with Penn State football for the past several decades you more than likely have ties to JoePa. Also, Penn State seems like the kind of place where they like to hire their own instead of bringing in a foreigner.

Agree regarding perception and the fact who would want to be the next coach of PSU - still doesn't take away from the fact PSU is one of a few superior jobs in college football and would be hard to decline if offered.
