***WBB Gameday: New Hampshire @ ISU***

We only get back for a few games a year and the Cyclone Challenge games are among them. Likely won't make it for the opening tip of Buffalo vs New Jersey Institute of Technology but hope to catch some of it. SOS is holding down our rpi and New Hampshire (219 Realtime) won't help. Coach uses the Challenge to teach and ready the team for conference play. Looking to control turnovers, conditioning, assists, multiple 3 pt shooters and points in the paint. But, I recall last year, we were close to losing one of these games and NH can shoot the 3 which can be a great equalizer. NH has four players averaging 10 or more points and watch for Morgan Frame, 6-1 junior forward averaging 25 ppg. From their site: "UNH leads the America East in 3-point field goal percentage (32.1) and rebounding defense (34.6) … Beliveau tops the America East in free throw percentage (92.9), ranks fourth in rebounding (8.6) and 12th in scoring (11.7) … Hogan and Reed rank second and third, respectively, in 3-point field goal percentage at 42.9 and 42.6 percent." Their tallest player, Kelly Flynn 6'5" sr C, doesn't see much action.

“We’ve got a pretty good football conference, and we’ve got a pretty good conference overall. We’re still walking around with our heads held high and our chest out, about that.” Paul Rhoads

This tournament is also a good way for the team to get quickly back into basketball mode before the Big 12 season starts. Having gone through finals and most going home (away from campus and basketball) for Christmas, these games gets the basketball juices flowing so I don't think SOS is as important giving the timing. Good for the girls to get a quick break from the grind, but need to get back at it quickly.

I think you make some really good points on the value of these games with respect to finals and the holidays.

Couldn't break free enough to drive down today (damn water heater). Anyways, if I heard correctly, KIOW will actually broadcast a WBB game (and about time also).

Taking care of business so far. Cyclones 19-8 at 13:04. Williamson with 2 threes. Looking pretty sharp.

We need to get things back into shape. I watched the OU-TCU game and even though OU has 3 losses, they'll be quick. I was reminded of how slow Whitney Williams was by watching.

Does the audio on the clone zone video feed precede the video by a second or so for everyone else as well? I've noticed this on other games too. It wasn't a problem for me on the old SD broadcasts.

Yes, I know if the shot is good or not when it leaves their hand. I like the HD, but why can't they incorporate the score box for the women's games, also?

They aren't doing that for the MBB games, are they? They need to replace the hardware that did it for the SD games.

They have the score on the screen for the men's games I've watched. There is a button to choose on or off, but it never works for the women's games for me.

71-57 ISU win. Not exactly a thing of beauty.

Post game Coach Schaben said Moody sprained an ankle. Cole hurt her elbow.
