    Bars in downtown New York

Whats everyone's plan for night life in New York? I believe us four college kids are going to go to O'lunney's and Tonic, but what is everyone else's plan?
Does anyone have knowledge of any other good spots to go for college kids?

I'm not going, but if I was I'd head for the Spring Lounge in SoHo, 48 Spring St, New York, NY (plug that into Google maps).

I had to go to a wedding in Brooklyn a couple years ago, and my gf and I spent a day wandering around Manhattan. We ended up drinking here for a couple hours because it was relatively inexpensive and a lot of fun. Bartenders and patrons were both super friendly and wildly curious as to why a couple from Iowa was there at 3PM on a weekday.

We're staying right there. I'm also trying to get to McSorleys Old Ale House which is the oldest bar in NYC. I would post the website but apparently they havent paid their website fees and their domain is up for sale?

McSorley's is my cousin-in-law's favorite bar. We debated hitting it, but just ran out of time.

One thing that cracks me up about NYC bars is that it's not uncommon to see astro-turf inside of them for patrons to play yard games on, since there is no grass outside of park areas in the city. It's very resourceful.
