Practice One Week Away For ISU Men - Iowa State University Athletics Official Web Site - www.CYCLONES.com - Iowa State Cyclones Sports

I used the summer and the time in preseason conditioning to get ready for the first day of practice next week, Hubalek said. I am up to 241 pounds, which I think is really good for me. Everyone kept telling me I needed to gain weight and get stronger. With our strength coach Andy Moser we focused on what had to get done and we got it done. I can feel it already when I am playing pickup games how much stronger and more confident I am.

241 pounds for Jiri. Good job out of him, he must have been really doing a lot of work.

good stuff.. cant wait til the season starts!!!

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

That 15 pounds will help a lil against Maric from NU. H's still probably outweighed by about 40 lbs.
The way Jiri plays, he doesn't want to be too big. He's always relied on his quickness. I can picture his lil left baby hook right now.

I am ready right now to get out in front of the Hilton crowd. Wesley (Johnson) keeps telling me how hyped it is going to be to play in Hilton and I can’t wait.”
I can't wait to see him play in Hilton too!

Man, I thought Maric graduated...but you're right, we have to deal w/ him for 1 more year.

15 lbs will suit Jiri well. I'm glad to see McD laid out a program and even happier to see that the players followed through.

It would be nice if we got a good turnout for the non-conference games early on. These guys have really been working hard for a long time, and they deserve a big, appreciative crowd.

Maric is like Jess Settles, Dugan Fife, The Crispin Brothers and all those other players that just seem to keep playing forever. Can he graduate already?

Jiri was in a broadway play over the summer, and had to eat 4 slices of pizza in every performance. That equated out to about 36 pizzas.

And we are picked to finish last. I like when people don't expect much of us. We seem to play our best. Like in 2000.
