Brandt says Blythe to go high in draft (Meyer and Bowen metioned also)

    LINK

Interesting he thinks Meyer and Bowen can go to the pro's as a free-agent but thinks Meyer will need to switch positions????.....

I love TB and BM. However, I honestly don't think either will play a down on Sunday. For a quick summary of why; TB isn't physical enough and BM can't throw a decent deep ball.

EDIT: BM isn't physical or fast enough outside of the QB position.

I'm kind of wondering what Mr. Brandt is, ummm, ingesting prior to, or while he writes this....

I could definitely see Blythe go into the pros and have a solid NFL career. Not sure if Meyer has the speed to switch positions. What kind of 40 does he run?

Yeah, I don't know how much stock I would put in what this guy is saying... What other position would Meyer play?

blythe could go to the pros as a decent posession reciever like keyshaun johnson. He doesnt have any breakaway speed for the pros though

Who cares if our punter thinks that Blythe will go to the pros? (yes I realize his name is Brandtner and it is stupid Sarcasm!)

Re: Brandt says Blythe to go high in draft (Meyer and Bowen metioned also)

I wouldn't put any money into Meyer. He can't elude pressure, look at his second option or throw down field. I'm not hating the guy, just saying he doesn't have it. And what position does he think he should switch too? Small Forward?

Bowen is a great player but lacks size and speed for his position.

Blythe is iffy. I wanna say his lack of production is from Meyer's lack of production the last two years, but who's to say? I would take him late in the draft, give him a chance.

You could see Bowen playing strong safety in the pros. He's got tremendous speed, and he always knows where to be.

    .

You are serious that Bowen lacks speed?

I agree he is a little lean, but the guy is quick and fast for a linebacker.

Re: Brandt says Blythe to go high in draft (Meyer and Bowen metioned also)

Blythe will get a look in the pros based on his size alone. He might not be a starter but could see him as a 4th or 5th WR in a spread set.

I don't see how Meyer get much of any kind of look. He's too turnover prone and hasn't shown much for throwing a good deep ball. You can't make the kinds of mistakes he's making now when you are playing on Sundays.

Bowen will probably get a free agent invite but his size is going to make it an uphill battle to win a roster spot. 6-2 218 is not very big for an NFL linebacker.

I think our best future NFL prospect on the roster right now is Hamilton if he can keep developing. He's 6-3 220 WR that has shown good hands. Not sure what his 40 speed is but I think we are going to see some great things from this kid the next few years.

Anyone here an NFL scout? Anyone?

I'll buy into what Gil has to say - to some extent.

It would be great to see some of these guys playing on Sundays. Obviously Blythe and Bowen have the best change. I'd be surprised if Meyer made it as a QB.

There could be a reason he is an EX scout.

Re: Brandt says Blythe to go high in draft (Meyer and Bowen metioned also)

I don't think Meyer really has much of a chance unless he somehow finds his way and improves a lot the rest of the year.

I think Blythe's chances all rest on his camps and workouts. He has some upside but he hasn't been real productive the past 2 years. If he can get better at hiding the push-offs and work on his routes some more, I think he has a chance.

I really think Bowen has a chance if he gains some additional muscle while staying as fast as he is. It might not be in the exact same position but he'll get a chance.

    Blythe - maybe
    Meyer - no
Bowen - would have to be a safety
