    MacBook Pro financing

Hey guys. I'm looking at getting a MacBook Pro in the near future (no later than June), and I saw I can finance it over a 12-month period. Has anyone here done this? I'll have a little over $450 towards a down payment after New Years. Just wondering if that's enough for the $1,500 product, and what the minimum payments are like. I know the interest rates are crazy high (like 24%), but I'm not worried about taking more than a year. I make about $4000 coaching in the summer, so I can make minimum payments (or more if I can afford it) and then pay off the balance once I start getting paid in the summer.

Just wondering if any of you have done this before and would recommend it.

Is the interest deferred? If not, I'd find another way to buy it.

You had it right at "crazy".

Seriously, sounds like you should wait until summer.

Interest is deferred for 12 months, unless you make a late payment (not too worried about that, either).

Sounds like a no-brainer then. Enjoy!

Also, a preemptive (EDIT: seeing post above mine, I guess not-so-preemptive) strike on the upcoming Apple/Microsoft argument. I have a MBP and love it - you're making a great choice.

Hold out for the next round of releases. Apple has some nice screens coming down the pipe.

Okay, then I'd only buy it if I was 100% sure that I would have it paid off by the end of the term.

    Re: MacBook Pro financing

I do this all the time with Nebraska Furn Mart either in Omaha or DSM. You cant got wrong and often you can get 36 mnth 0% financing if you check ads each week. I do it even when I have extra money just to be on the safe side.

Ive done this so far for about 5,000 worth of furniture and electronics with not a single down side.

A very wise, and wealthy man once told me unless it's a major purchase like a house or car, if you have to use credit to buy it, you can't afford it.
