Re: Williams Blog: Time for MBB to take things up a notch

This team misses Jake a lot. He made a great impression last season and was definitely the leader. He made everyone work day in and day out and it shows in the lack of intensity this year. Been evident every game.

I think what kilss us is when we get up by 15 or more they think the game is one and get comfortable.. we need to play the whole game

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

If we come out and blow out the next two teams, I will feel alot better about going into Big 12 play.

Also, Chris Allen, Chris Babb and Scott Christopherson combined to go 4-for-18 from the floor. Here’s my stone cold LOCK for the rest of the season. Those three will not combine for a night like that more than once more this season. Deal? I’m officially on the record with that prediction.

    I'd take this bet.

I wouldn't. All three of those guys can go off at any point and have 28 points. Another chance at all three of them going cold again....not likely.

Ditto. I feel like they came darn close to this once already earlier in the season. Can't remember which game. Drake maybe?

They've already had games like that.

Me too. Babb and Allen both seem so darn streaky. Plus defenses are going to get A LOT better, and I see them taking more and more bad shots.

Until further notice, I think our shooting ability is very overrated. Unless we're completely wide open all game long, and we tend not to work hard enough or move enough for that to happen, we're not really that great at shooting the three.

IMO we need to keep Royce down on the block & send the ball through him on every possession. I feel like we're at our best offensively when the ball goes through him on the block.

I've yet to see Allen on a hot streak. I know he had at least one hot game but I didn't see it. His shot selection makes me violent.

    Agree.
Fred needs to announce a new team edict.
"If you are set up in the half court offense and you dont look to feed it to Royce, you are sitting next to me on the bench. And if you dont like it, tough".

Anyone miss Lutz yet? I never really see Freddy get on his players all that much....maybe its the Phil Jackson philosophy, time will tell.
