    St. Joe's transfer saga

Pretty good editorial. Wonder if there is another side to it. Although, you'd think that if there was, the reason would have been given by now. Definitely an interesting tactic, by taking it to SI.

Wow... that's bush league... tell the coach at St. Joes to grow up and release the kid... he didn't have a hard time replacing him on the court, so why is he having such a hard time letting him go?

    Re: St. Joe's transfer saga

OK, I am that "one guy" in a thread like this. My sister-in-law's younger sister brought Todd to a family Christmas dinner in Denver, PA that I was at.
I got chatting with him there, really nice guy. Todd told me that ISU recruited him as well in high school, said he was very familiar with our program, and that Craig Brackins was really well thought of on the east coast from his time at Brewster. It's really unfortunate that this happened to him. Seemed like a really genuine, smart kid.

This can't be true. The NCAA always does what is best for the student athlete.

Coaches on an ethics committee seem funny all by itself.

Yeah it's not going to be any easier for him in that area with Temple coming back and being decent again, Villanova is usually very solid, and Georgetown is also usually very solid.

    Re: St. Joe's transfer saga

for what its worth, sounds like the player was suspended during the last year as well. This article is completely one sided, keep that in mind.

St. Joseph's center Todd O'Brien rejoins Hawks | NCAAB | The Score

Either way, sounds like it would be best for both parties to sign the waiver.

If he was in trouble all the more reason to get rid of him. Hard to read holding the release as anything other than vindictive. Give him a conditional release fine, but no release for a guy that doesn't play much.
