For XM customers who have been waiting for an Iowa State game to be broadcast as part of the new deal between XM and the Big 12, this Saturday is it. The game will be broadcast on XM242. I assume you'll get the Texas Tech announcers as they are the home team.
The only other game that will be broadcast on XM this year is the following week vs. Texas. I have a feeling this will be the Texas announcers even though ISU is the home team since XM is the exclusive satellite network for UT football.
They are also going to have a big block of coverage of the Red River Shootout this weekend.
Note: The game will still be broadcast on Sirius this week on channel 119 as part of ISU's individual agreement with Sirius. Any idea when this agreement expires? Now that XM is the "official" satellite carrier of Big 12 athletics, I would assume a new agreement to be inked with XM when it is over.
Ahh after this next year it will not matter anymore when it is all one big disfunctional family.
BTW, for you XM fans, they are doing "IT" again starting at the end of Oct. Basically it is a countdown of every single top 40 song from the 40's till today. I listened a lot last year, it was very cool. No commericals, no chat, just like 25 days of straight music 24x7.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Benjamin Franklin 1775
As an avid baseball and ISU fan, it's great to see them come together on one satellite provider, if even for one week. Thanks for the update - I was giving up hope on getting an ISU game and I found the comments on this board to refresh quicker than the online gamecast...
