    WHO Sucks.

RHOADS CONTRACT: Students Say $20M is Excessive - WHO

Really? Kirk Ferentz makes more than any other state employee. And they are acting like they interviewed many students yet they only have one quote. Does this make anyone else upset?

There are not many crowds or places in the country that have a better impact on the game than at Iowa State. The Cyclone fans are truly a sixth man. The place is so loud and always a fantastic crowd." - Former Kansas and current North Carolina head coach Roy Williams

I love the quote from that girl. Essentially, "Maybe the dumb kids can get scholarships, but I'm smart so I can't apply for those." Not smart enough, evidently.

"We're going nuts. All the students," Student James Sampson says, "The student body goes nuts when he's out there, rallying the troops into the field of battle. So, yeah, I'm really happy he's sticking around."
This is a good quote but the kids quoted after this are ignorant to the benefits of a football program.

    Re: WHO Sucks.

For the last girl's comments: Why should there be scholarships for students with a low GPA?
I understand that GPA isn't always the best indicator of a student's ability, due to the possibility of various circumstances, but it usually provides at least a good baseline.

Why would you create scholarships solely for lower-performing students? What kind of school precedent is that going to set?

I love the, "hey lets ask people on the side of the street that don't understand how things work, and then not help them understand it" segments.

    Re: WHO Sucks.

I mean, I will say it's a legitimate question to ask whether coaches should make the money they make at institutions of higher learning. But the report acts like this is unique to ISU. It's just a dumb "article". It basically says, "Rhoads gets raise; some pleased; some not." Well that's shocking!

Our financial aid\scholarships are pretty lacking (its a part of why our avg student debt is so high), but while its a valid complaint, putting the blame at the foot of athletics is misplaced.

The solution the girl proposed seems to address the problem for the wrong students as well.

Nothing against those doing poorly, but that's not the group that should be earning scholarships.

Can we make a list of all the media and restaurants that need to be avoided?

Basically, just grab the phone book or turn on your TV.Or get gas at Kum-N-Go, which is a violation of general boycott principles as well.
