    Re: Jeff Hornacek Highlights

Dude had some buzzer beaters. Hard to believe he was a walkon at one point

Hilton Coliseum was specifically built to hold in sound with a solid concrete structure, steel doors, and a crowd that sits just a few feet from the court. With a fan base that frequently ranks among the nations largest crowds, players from opposing teams, as well as Iowa State, have said that the floor has shaken due to the loudness of the crowd

No matter how ridiculous the shot, he always acted like he fully expected it to go in.

Clearly the best pro to ever come out of any state of Iowa college basketball team. As much as I've enjoyed watching other Cyclones and Hawkeyes in the NBA over the years, his career #s dwarf the rest.

I think he was raised in a circus. You almost expected him to say "Ta-da!" at the end of every shot.

This is the fourth time I would have repped you today if I could. Instead you will have to settle for this:

    Re: Jeff Hornacek Highlights

That's fantastic. Thanks for posting the clips.

As cool as some of those shots are, his passing ability and court awareness are still so unheralded.

I'd love to see a collage from the ISU years. That behind-the-back to Stockton is a Hornacekesque play — but he had any even more mind-boggling pass during a game I saw at Hilton (in early ESPN/pre-YouTube days, it's obviously only in my memory).

He was either the most unlikely ISU player to have a sustained and productive NBA career, or one of the most under-the-radar guards in '80s college basketball.

    Or both.

Why not continue the legacy and bring him back as an assistant coach?

It was mentioned when CFH was hired, his name was even brought up,at least on CF, as a potential candidate. The main thing was, he was wanting to spend time with his family until they got older, etc. And i imagine even if he's with the Jazz full-time now, he's probably fairly settled down,at least for now, in Utah.

    Re: Jeff Hornacek Highlights

he had a slew of highlites with the Phoenix Suns too.

I remember him saving so many games down the stretch when Kevin Johnson started to throw up crappy shots and turn the ball over late in the 4th for the Suns.

Horny would bail out the Suns time and time again
