Why are so many so afraid of TT?

Before I get my head torn off, yes I realize they have the best offense in the nation. We are going to give up a lot of yards. There is no getting around that, but if we can bend and not break, I think we have a legitimate shot at winning this game. In no way am I predicting a win, but I don't think it is out of the question. This is Texas Tech! They are not Texas or Oklahoma. This is a team that just got beat by a mediocre OSU team 2 weeks ago and forced their DC to resign. We can put up points, and if we are able to control the ball like we did in Lincoln, this will be a close game. Let's not forget that our head coach is suppossed to be a defensive guru and our defense has been average to above average this season.

In conclusion, Iowa State wins IF:
-we turn the ball over 1 time or less
-our red zone defense steps up
-we give our running backs more than 30 carries

Obviously, these are all big IF's. I think it's possible. We're improving. We're going to win some more games this year. If this was at home, I would predict a win. Since it's not, TT 38 ISU 31.

What was the score the last time you played in Lubbock? Or any game other than the Wallace game since Leach has been coach?

They aren't Texas or Oklahoma. But they haven't had less than 8 wins since 2001. They probably would have won the Big 12 north 4 of the last 5 years. It's on the road, in their house. Of course I'm afraid of TT, I don't want any demoralizing losses to sap the positive attitude of the team.

Two completely different teams will be on the field Saturday. How does that have any relevance to this week's game?

Re: Why are so many so afraid of TT?

Oh...well...see...I dunno...it could be the fact year in and year out - they put up points, points and more points.

Their defense is less than great...however we faced one of those Saturday and didn't do so hot in the scoring column.

*Tech just scored another TD on someone.*

I'd like to think we'll hang with 'em, but they're just too fast and skilled for us to handle right now.

And, that first IF of us only giving up 1 turnover...well...that's a big one...seeing how we've only done that once this year (against a bad Iowa team).

OSU would beat any team you've played so far this year.

If this happens I say we win. Yep we win. Unless we have 5 turnovers. My biggest fear of Texas Tech is if we don't hold onto the ball, which is not really fearing them, just fearing ourselves. They will easily make it into the 30's if not 40's, I just don't know if we can do the same thing.

Step 1: Cut a hole in the box.

The two teams are totally different. However, the results have been the same - lots of losses.

There is one minor difference with this team than the teams that previously played in Lubbock. This team isn't coached by Dan McCarney. This team is actually improving which never happened with Mac. I'm sorry, I'm just not scared of a team that has beaten nobody and lost to OSU. I don't think our players or our coaches are either. We may get our ***** handed to us, but I just don't see why so many people don't think we can cover a monsterous spread. We are not as bad as our record indicates. If we cut down on turnovers, there is no way we don't cover the spread.

Didnt mean it to be a flame but its true.

I dont know how you can talk about this game, bring up the fact that we lost AT osu and ignore the fact that A. they would beat anyone you've played and B. you lost to the Panthers and Kent State.

Like I said, ISU has shown a lot of improvent and I think things look bright for you under Chizik but its not happening this Satuday
