Oklahoma and Florida went to the MNC.
Texas had one loss, on the road, vs. #5 Texas Tech.
Florida had one loss, at home, vs. an unranked Ole Miss team.
one loss, at home, vs. an unranked Ole Miss team...that produced a speech that went on a plaque on the stadium.
You obviously missed the BCS selection criteria that clearly states that:
34-c) Subsection IV - "Any embarrassing loss by an SEC school can be negated for the sake of National Championship selection following an impassioned speech by a player that is then rendered into a plaque and attached to the stadium."
Little known fact: Stoops, not realizing the narrow scope of the rule, attempted to negate their loss to Texas by scrawling the lyrics to "Boomer Sooner" on the outside of Memorial Stadium in crayon. This had no effect on the ultimate decision, as the Tarot cards the BCS used had already selected Oklahoma after it was discovered that Cumberlin College was neither a BCS nor an FBS school.
