    Pinstripe Bowl Preview

Not sure if this has been posted, so feel free to merge if it has been!

Pinstripe Bowl 2011: Complete Preview for Rutgers vs. Iowa State | Bleacher Report

This guy is a huge Rutgers homer if he honestly feels that any CB in the Big East is as good as LJ. I think LJ will shut down Sanu and IF Herman shows his loyalty and truly is "ALL IN" we will out produce them by 2 TD's(Offensively) ... their D is decent, but their offense is not shocking to me Sanu is their main threat they cant really run the ball, Defense has a great game adds a TD off a TO.

My prediction is ISU 31- Rutgers 10.

    Re: Pinstripe Bowl Preview

Besides, does Iowa State strike you as a football program that travels particularly well?
    Well, yes.

That was horrible. Very little research and the guy sounds like he's never watched football. Will the players be more interested in Yankee Stadium or the game? Seriously? "Guess I wont block on this play and instead think about what its like to see a curve ball in Yankee Stadium." Yup, sounds totally reasonable.

Did they say Iowa state is not a team with a reputation that travels well? Total loss or credibility.... Again.... Now in the negatives....

    Re: Pinstripe Bowl Preview

Our team likes to run. Their team doesn't like to defend the run. Sanu is the best wide receiver in Big East history and I hadn't heard of him til I saw the bowl matchup. He wouldn't even be a top 5 receiver in the Big XII IMO. Cyclones 34-Rutgers 20 (We don't make two field goals. We miss an extra point.)

"Don't expect Sanu to be taken out of the game easily though as he's faced his opposition's best defenders all year"

In the BIG EAST! As someone said earlier, I don't think he would be top 5 in the Big 12. It's not that he isn't good, just that I doubt he's faced a defense like us or a defender like LJ!

Actually he would be the 4th best WR in the B12 based on yds rec since he is the 18th best WR. The WR's ahead of him are Wright (2), Broyles (4), and Blackmon (8). How good is Broyles being 4th and missing the last 3 games?

He would also be the 4th best WR ISU has faced after Wright, Blackmon, and McNutt (11).

Ryan Swope is up there too. I'd put up our back 7 against anyone. Sanu does not scare me.

This is how I feel too, we've played top notch WR's all year, this guy isn't anything we can't handle.

    Re: Pinstripe Bowl Preview

I agree that it was a very poorly written article (as is pretty much everything on that website). Also let me say that I have enjoyed reading and posting on this website the past few days.

But some of you guys give us NO credit, make us sound like we're a high school team that doesn't have a shot against "Big Bad ISU"... Give me a break, your no better then us, and we are no better then you. In the words of the great Brian Leonard "any team, can be any team, on any given day". I expect a close, hard fought game, and hopefully at the end of the game I am the one that ends up like this and some of you guys end up like this

Anyway, is it December 30th yet? See you guys in the city

By the numbers you are correct. But I don't think his numbers would be that high in the Big 12.

    Re: Pinstripe Bowl Preview

I think Sanu is probably a really good receiver who will get some yards, but I do think he will be contained, and I don't think Rutgers can stop our running game.
