As discussed in the other thread, he wasn't slamming soldiers or vets, he was slamming people who support soldiers when they are in the field but not once they come home. And he attempted to make his point in a very very poor manner.

    Um, yes he was.
"We get to show the troops we still appreciate what they're doing for us," said another College Republican. What are they doing for us? Nothing. But against us they're doing a lot: creating anti-American terrorists in the countries they occupy. Said the same College Republican, "It can't be fun to be away from your family for the holidays. As if American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan had been conscripted? They chose to leave home.

    Re: anyone watching fox news?

from what I read, the guy has a right to his opinion. I don't necessarily agree with it, but I see his point. Seems like every time I go into a store now, especially Walgreens, they have a stack of something that I should be buying and donating to the military personnel. I'm OK with that in theory, but you shouldn't have a huge rack of Duracell batteries (at full price) for me to buy and donate. How about selling them at cost and duracell taking a break on them as well. Then I'm fine with it. In the mean time, it seems like a patriotic way for a company to guilt me into profiting off the soldiers as opposed to really helping them out.
