I admit it, I'm jealous of the Hawkeyes...

...for their TV coverage, that is. ABC does a national telecast of the 0-2 Hawkeyes vs. 0-2 Penn State. Boy, how's that for a game of national interest? In addition, ESPN2 announced it will carry the Iowa vs. Illinois game the following week.

I know, I know...if we start winning, the television coverage will take care of itself. It's just unfortunate that the same rule doesn't apply to the Big 10. But then again, maybe its not in the Hawkeyes' best interests to be on national TV right now.

Every Big10 game is on TV no matter who it is, they have different levels of TV. The big12 has one level, Not Available.

Iowa State is still playing football? I haven't watched a game of ISU football on TV in over a year.

Jeez, when was the last ISU game on TV that I watched? The Iowa game from last year? No, the Texas game was on for 3 quarters.

When I lived in Dallas I got at least 2 ISU games a year. Texas usually being one of them. Of course ISU was better at the time. Funny how I am 400 miles closer to Ames (Chicago) and don't get squat because of Big 10 coverage. And the Big 10 games they choose aren't even that great.

I understand that every Big 10 football game is on TV, but I'm talking about NATIONAL TV (ABC, and ESPN).

A crappy Iowa team is on ABC this weekend, playing a Penn State team that just lost 2 straight games.

    Ick.

You will hear a popping noise right before the television coverage takes care of itself. That will be the Big 12 pulling it's head out of its *ss.

The BTN is national TV. Every Dish and DirecTV subscriber has it. If you get DirecTV, you can see EVERY Big 10 game every week, outside of some really screwy TV situations (regional ABC game chosen but you're in a different region....even then you can get it on gameplan).

They have the best TV coverage by FAR. I'd say Notre Dame is second, and the Big 12 is roughly 3rd. It's not THAT horrible of a package. It's just not a good package when you're a bad team. Not counting the B10 network, the Big 12 had the same number of teams on TV that the Big 10 did last week. Ours just wasn't one of them.

Also, I've seen Dan Mccarney's new team three times already. I'm sure there are more to come.

They are probably the best team in the Big East. The Big East has a pretty decent TV package. Of course they are going to be on.

If you are good in the Big 12 you will get on TV.

The main problem with our TV package is that there is no way for another network to try to pick up a game even if they wanted to.

I think the Big East has a great package - they play some weekday games, but at least they are on freaking TV.
