Guess Who is 5th in Country in Scoring

Bluejays magnificent through seven - Omaha.com

Forward Doug McDermott is fifth in scoring with a 23.7 average and 16th in field-goal percentage (.627). He also is shooting 57.7 from 3-point range but doesn't have enough 3-point baskets per game to qualify for the national statistics.

I'd love to see a 2010 Ames High reunion game sometime, with Dougie, Barnes, Palo...and those two other guys.

His efficiency numbers are off the charts so far. He's a big time favorite of a lot of the college basketball blogs this year.

I may be in the minority, but I'm happy for Doug and Greg......they deserve some success after hard times, just like we do. Their success seems to be coming sooner than ours, but I still think we'll all be better off with how everything played out. It's still hard to believe Creighton hired GMac and we got The Mayor almost seamlessly.

Dougie may mean more to CU than HB does to UNC.

Very happy for Doug and will always root for him. Can't say the same for his dad though.

But Palo means more to ISU than either of those guys do to their respective teams.

I'll be happy for GMac. At least he had the decency to know he was in over his head and leave rather than sit around collecting a higher paycheck and waiting to get fired.

It's all water under the bridge, IMO. He sucked here and I'm sure he wishes it would have ended differently. Had he gotten things rolling sooner, who knows what could have been. Harrison and Doug together at ISU would have been a possibility and it's crazy to think about.

That would have been unreal, but I think it would have taken a miracle for Barnes to have come here. We've never had a player of his caliber, ever; he could end up being the best player to come out of the state. It doesn't take anything away from our program to say that a kid like Barnes deserves to be playing on the national stage every night, like he is.
