    the muppet movie

The previous movies were about average, but I thought this new one was excellent. I was a fan of the original tv series and I wish it would come back. You would think that it would have decent ratings as there is just not much out there for the younger audience. If you liked the Muppets, you need to see this movie

Me too! Went to it with grandkids. I think I liked it as much as they did.

    Re: the muppet movie

I was a child of the 80's and loved anything with Muppets (Sesame Street, The Muppet Show, Muppet Movie, Muppet Caper, Muppets Take Manhattan, Muppet Babies cartoon, etc.).

Went to see the new movie last week. Fantastic! Not going to lie, I got a little choked up when Kermit walked into the rundown Muppet Theater for the first time in years, and looked around at the various pictures on the wall from the original series (had a picture of Steve Martin's appearance, and others). And then sounds from the original series echoed throughout (Pigs in Space intro, etc.). Took me back to when I was a kid. Also got a little choked up when they performed Rainbow Connection. Of course had to cough and act like I was choking down a piece of popcorn so the kids wouldn't suspect a thing!

Anyway, if you ever, at any time in your life enjoyed the Muppets, go see this one.

Loved the Dave Grohl cameo and the barbershop quartet of Teen Spirit. Those cracked me up. I was sad that they didnt have Rizzo the Rat, but they at least Pepe the Prawn in there. I swear there was not a dry adult eye in the theater when Rainbow Connection came on. Good movie.

    Re: the muppet movie

My parents took the Mrs. and I, along with my brother and sister to see it Thanksgiving night. The theater had about 50 kids in it and I thought I was going to either fall asleep or be annoyed with the kids jumping around...

I think my wife and I enjoyed it more than the 3 boys (ages between 3 and 8) sitting in front of us. You know a movie succeeds when the kids in the audience are awe-struck (and behaving!) for an hour-and-a-half. I think every member in my family teared up at some point - my moment of weakness was when they sang Rainbow Connection (I picked that song for the mother-son dance at my wedding). I guess that makes me a muppet-of-a-man

I can't wait to take my kids to this. It will be reliving my childhood and also showing them something that I remember from "back in the day."

Does Jason Segal go full frontal in this one too?

    Re: the muppet movie

People clapped at the end of the showing I was at. That doesn't happen very often. My 8 year old Daughter loved it and I wasn't sure she would going in.

I think my wife and I enjoyed it more than my son did. We both grew up with the show though so...

    Great movie.

    Re: the muppet movie

I actually have a bad experience at the muppets... My wife, myself, 4.5 year old daughter and 20 month old son went to it several weeks ago... My son wasnt cooperating... so my wife took him to the hallway while my daughter and I watched for another 15-20 minutes... Then my daughter started crying about wanting her mom.... So I said go see her in the hall( I was really enjoying the movie)... After another 10-15 minutes no one came back so I went to check on them in the hallway... My daughter wouldnt come back in without her mom, and my son was still crying... I was ******... Said something along th lines of here are keys to the car... see ya in a hour... but that didnt go over real well.... So we all left.... $50 later and only seeing up to the part were they got the theater all cleaned up.... Both my wife and I enjoyed what we saw... my daughter liked it but wanted her mommy... and I dont know what was up with my son... He usually acts ok at movies... but was being a little **** that night....

I still say everyone should go see it! But we will probably wait till it comes out on DVD to finish watching it....

    Re: the muppet movie

I wanted to see the muppets or Hugo after Thanksgiving, but my younger brother was against seeing it. I grew up with the muppets but he must have just missed them. I am glad people on here liked the movie because I will probably go see at Christmas now.

Hugo was good but not was I expecting.

    Re: the muppet movie

I grew up with the Muppets and vaguely remember The Muppet Show on tv but they don't hold a lot of nostalgia value for me.

So I can say from a somewhat unbiased stance that this movie was absolutely awesome.
