    Re: Cheapest way to NYC

For those that are considering going, rooms at the Meadowlands Embassy Suites are $169 a night assuming you are ok leaving on the 31st. The rooms are great as well because you can get 4 people in there pretty easily with the 2 room suites. You'd have to take a bus into the city but that's really easy and once there you can go wherever you want via subway. It's an option especially for those who get a flight into Newark.

    Re: Cheapest way to NYC

Fly and stay in Newark - hotels are MUCH cheaper. Then take the train in NYC. Don't taxi, it's crazy expensive.

Megabus : A little hectic to book from Des Moines - Chicago - Columbus/Cleveland - Pittsburgh - New York, but it could be done.

Priceline the hotels...you really can't go wrong unless you really want one hotel over another.

Some buddies and I drove 24 hours to Tempe. We saw a lot of vehicles sporting Iowa plates/ISU flags on the trip down. 18 hours to New York wouldn't be bad.
