Why is KState being left out..

of all the talk for a BCS bowl? Am I missing something here? So much talk about Michigan. KSU is ahead of them in the BCS rankings and will move up to maybe #8...yet no network was talking about them in a BCS bowl.

Because the networks are still of the belief that the Big 10 is good. Purple Kansas deserves a BCS game more than a lot of other teams given the schedule they've played. The only 2 teams they've lost to are Okie St. and OU, both of which were ranked in the top 10 when they played them.

Ok, just making sure there wasn't actually a good reason...just more analysts being not smart.

KSU definitely has a better case than a lot of other teams being talked about...but Baylor does too actually.

Hell, even at 3 losses OU has a better case than others that are in. See that sagarin still has them at #4.

Because the win over Iowa State is somehow considered a "bad almost loss."

Not really. Baylor has 3 losses, one being aTm, who is not a good team. Baylor has a better non-conference schedule because they played TCU, but I don't think that makes up for it. Both have played hard schedules due to them playing in the Big 12, but KSU is still a better team (also won head-to-head).

Michigan is seriously being talked above Kansas State?

    Wins vs. current BCS-25:
    KSU: 3
    U-M: 1

Number of games played vs. current BCS:
    KSU: 5
    U-M: 2

Is that the whole picture? Not necessarily.

I have read that the BCS is used only to determine the top 2, and the rest of the order "doesn't matter" as far as the rest of the bowl pecking order. If it's supposed to be a definitive system to determine the top 2 teams, you can't just discard it.
