ESPN will likely get their wish. All of their analysts are pushing hard for a rematch because they know Alabama gets higher TV ratings than Oklahoma State.

    Re: Sagarin Ratings... ISU 29

    Crap.

Although, it's pretty neat that we're ranked ahead of 5 FBS teams with 9 or more wins, including a BCS bowl team (WV). And, we're the 2nd-highest 6-6 team behind only A&M, who did have a lot of close losses to highly-ranked teams. They're a good team that couldn't finish a game to save their life. We were completely inept when we played them and used the 2nd half of that game to start finding our groove.

Also, UNI is ranked ahead of, get this...by my count, 12 bowl-eligible FBS teams. Even though it infuriates me when they are competitive with us, Go Panthers. I hope they continue to represent our state well in the FCS playoffs. Wouldn't it be amazing if FBS had that system? There is so much being missed by not having a playoff system...but I digress.

My first ISU basketball game - Fred Hoiberg was on the court.
My first ISU football game - Paul Rhoads was on the sidelines.
But they hadn't yet reached their full potential.

    Re: Sagarin Ratings... ISU 29

ISU is actually #21 in the Sagarin ranking used for the BCS computers.

KState is #5 in that portion.

ISU is ranked above our future conference foe and BCS bound WVU, but just behind our other future conference foe and also possibly BCS bound TCU.

ISU would be #2 in the Big Ten now in some BCS computer polls. That's what losing to Dakota and New Mexico schools, then having that same incredibly crappy team beat teams like Iowa and Illinois, does to your conference computer ranking.

    Re: Sagarin Ratings... ISU 29

And if this doesn't put everything in perspective, here is a listing of teams we're ranked higher than by Sagarin:

    West Virginia
    Florida
    Auburn (suck it Chiz)
    Utah (Touchdown Utah...ugh)
BYU (see what independence does to SoS?)
    Ohio State
Iowa (all the way down at #43)

If you put Kansas in the Big Ten this year and gave them Iowa's schedule, I think they could have won 5 games. Think about it - they could have been competitive with 2 of their non-conference, they played us tightly, and easily could have played with MN and Indiana. NW would have been another potential game.

And Kansas was, BY FAR, the crappiest team in the Big XII. They really sucked.

Sagarin had OkState #3 last week too obviously, still doesn't dash their hopes yet as they only need 4 rankings to say their #2 (2 of which already say so).

    Re: Sagarin Ratings... ISU 29

The B12 is far and away the toughest conference this year, and ISU's record this year is absolutely NOT representative of how you guys play. I didn't get to be there for this year's game, but have been at the last two meetings between our schools and have enjoyed the games since I started attending KSU in 1992, and I have immense respect for your program.

Interesting thought: using Jerry Palm's BCS simulator with the data he has inputed at this moment in time, the only really bad team in the B12 (KU) is still ranked higher in the BCS than 1 SEC team, 4 ACC teams, 2 B10 teams and 4 P12 teams. The second "worst" team in the B12 is ranked higher than 6 ACC teams, 4 BE teams, 6 B10 teams, 8 P12 teams and 4 SEC teams. Yet many out there are still trying to claim that the SEC is the "toughest" football conference in the land.

I like the direction in which your program is going, and am looking forward to some terrific meetings in the future!

Sagarin has always ranked OSU a bit lower than the other ones. Before OSU lost to us they had 3 computers having them at #1, 3 at #2, the Sagarin rating was one of the #2s.

KU beat an eventual FBS conference champion. Minnesota lost to schools with Dakota and New Mexico in their names. There's no comparison whatsoever, apples and oranges.

Out of curiosity, what is ISU's ranking on there?

For me it's really cool to see some traditional powerhouse programs listed below us... Never would have thought that before the season started. Great job 'Clones.

    Re: Sagarin Ratings... ISU 29

Alarson, he currently ranks ISU #36, above 6 SEC teams, 7 ACC teams, 6 BE teams, 7 B10 teams and 10 P12 teams.

Not surprisingly, it is the human polls that are holding ISU down in that system. Just looking at the computers, you are #29 (the exact average, throwing out the highest and lowest, is 27.25, but that is the 29th highest computer average; if you don't throw out the highest and lowest, your average computer rating is 27 on the dot).
