Ok ok, where does the Big 12 stand as of today?

OK, so Oklahoma and Texas lost. I was under the impression that Oklahoma was invincible this year. Well maybe not a super power, but they have been very dominant. Then they lose to Colorado who I though would be better but not beat a whole lot of teams. Then I see Texas lose by 20 to Kstate. While Kstate is not a pushover, who would have thought they would pull a 20 over the horns at home. Is the big 12 weak this year? I know its the first conference game for these teams and a whole lot can change, but what are your predictions now? Im thinking Kstate could be a good contender for the north. I dont see Neb really pulling up in improvements. Heck ISU while struggling for the moment could knock off any team if they are caught sleeping. What does that say?

Maybe, just maybe the Big 12 North has improved a little bit. Colorado has looked alright in OOC games and so did K-State. Mizzou and KU are the only undefeated teams left in the Big 12.

ISU had the opportunities the last few years to establish themselves when there was a lot of turmoil in the North. ISU is going to have to earn there place in the division instead of it being handed to them.

I have noticed improvement each week for the Cyclones. From what I heard of the game yesterday there were some really good things ISU did, but as Keeler said,"...ISU shoots itself in the temple."

Re: Ok ok, where does the Big 12 stand as of today?

The Big 12 and 10 are both WEAK this year (the big 10 being much weaker though). I was shocked about the Oklahoma game especially the way they man handled Miami. Texas I was not to shocked about, they don't quite have the same team this year and have struggled in games they should not struggle in.

I think we are seeing "parity" really start to sink into college football the past two years. Look at App. St. winning at the Big House and Michigan might be the best team in the Big 10 still.

Honestly, I think the Big 10 and Big 12 are the bottom 2 BCS conferences this year, well maybe bottom 3 with the ACC. Pac 10, SEC, Big East, are all playing a lot better football right now.

I think if the north were to win the B12 this would be the year to make it happen. I wonder if we are seeing the beginning of a shift in power. Maybe the north will start to be able to contend a more and more with the south. I absolutely love the fact Colorado beat Oklahoma, it really made my day. Texas has just struggled and I wasnt overly surprised by that one I guess.

The Big East???? Louisville the pre-season front runner got smoked by Syracuse at HOME. South Florida looks to be for real, but that's about it. Agree on the Pac 10 and SEC being the dominate conferences.

How about Drake and UNI winning comfortably. I was just in awe of scores yesterday.

My prediction: Mizzou wins the North, then loses to Oklahoma in the Championship game.

I have yet to see Mizzou play, but you may very well be right.

Maybe it is just the bottom tier teams are getting better. Seems to be happening in all the conferences, those teams there were pushovers are not anymore. Look at Indiana, Illinois, KU, ISU, etc.

I agree. The Big 12 is certainly lacking a title contender now that Oklahoma lost, but there are a lot of good teams, and as the newer coaches get their systems in place, it will only get better. Unfortunately, I think Hawkins will have Colorado dominating the Big 12 north in a couple years.

I think the Big 12 and the Big 11 are going through the same changes. The best teams are not as good and the worse teams are not as bad. Teams like TX, NB, and OK have beat teams like ISU, KSU and KU over the last 15 years by just having better players. Now that some of thehuge talent differences are going away, some of the elite teams are being outcoached in games.

It is going to be pretty tough on both Iowa and Iowa State, because there are really no horrible teams left in the leagues to beat up on to make a bowl game.

My question is what if the day comes (they laugh at me down here for talking about this) that the North repeatedly beats up on the South? How would the nation view the conference? Even if the North teams were racking up BCS Bowl wins..... I'm willing to bet that many would still call the conference weak just because the South wasn't the ones winning.

My guess is that the Big XII South would withdraw from the conference and start their own...or...since they own the conference now (television, management, all the other bs) they would boot the North out.

I bet if the North started repeatedly beating up on the South, we (the North) still couldn't get any of our games on tv.
