    TicketCity Hotels

Since the TicketCity Bowl is probably the only one I could attend has anyone designated a CF Hotel? It would probably be a good idea to designate a CF hotel for each of the possibilities (Holiday, Military, etc...) so when the announcement happens we at least have a starting point.

I highly doubt anyone will even look until we know where we are going.

Too bad because when it happens we are all scrambling to find places and I know there are people on this board that know the DFW area and could probably point us in the right direction or at least give us a couple of choices.

I'm with cygrads. If I knew a good place to book, I would because it's likely the only bowl that I'd be able to attend.

    Re: TicketCity Hotels

I took a flyer on a hotel in Dallas as it appears to me we are headed for the Ticket City Bowl game. I now have had seven other couples reserve rooms there as well.

    Hyatt Summerfiled Suites, Uptown- Dallas

Dallas Uptown Hotel | Dallas Hotel Suites | Hyatt Summerfield Suites, Dallas, TX

Affordable, fairly close to Texas State Fairgrounds and in a very nice area (Uptown).

One note of caution: if you try to reserve a room for Saturday evening, the rate will be approx $110 more. Instead try to check in on Sunday.

    Re: TicketCity Hotels

i heard the Ticket City is a pretty unlikely destination, as Conf USA chooses not necessarily on order but on the schools preference and the Ticket City would be pretty high on C-USA's schools list as it would be against a Big 10 team...

Just reserve hotels in 7 cities. You cannot go wrong.

As far as prices going up for saturday evening, just book one large room and throw a party till Sunday.

    Re: TicketCity Hotels

You can't go wrong staying anywhere along 75 between downtown and 635. Tollway corridor between 635 and Bush Turnpike is nice too, but getting farther away from the Cotton Bowl.

What is the Cotton Bowl area like? Being an old stadium (maybe on the grounds of the Texas State Fair), I am suspicious that there isn't much in the way of hotels that is real close.

Correct, it is pretty ghetto around Fair Park. The closest you can stay to Fair Park would be downtown.

    Re: TicketCity Hotels

If you're looking for cheap hotels with easy access to the bowl game look in Mesquite, TX. Easy in and out on I-30 in about 15 minutes. There's some decent Hampton Inns, etc around there and some decent chain restaurants as well.

If your looking for other things to do in Dallas while here check mid-town hotels located near the aquarium, school book depository, etc. It is minutes to Fair Park/Cotton Bowl on the train and there are other bars and restaurants in the area, as well as Deep Elum which is an eclectic "Court Avenue" type of area nearby. Going Uptown does give you access to some bars on McKinney Ave but tough access to the stadium.

Remember, you're unique. Just like everyone else.

Until further notice, the Big 12 tournament is best. There's an experience here. Not just the teams -- the feel, the vibe, the establishments. Iowa State not only won the pregame -- filling the nearby Power & Light District -- it won the whole damn scene.

Good analysis. It really depends how much you want to spend. If I was trying to save money, there are a few hotels right at the intersection of 75-635 that I'd start with. After that, I'd go with hotels near the 30-635 interchange or 80-635 interchange in Mesquite.

If you don't mind spending money, you could stay downtown or uptown.

Unless I stayed at a hotel right near downtown, I probably would avoid hotels along I-35.

No matter what, there are a boatload of hotels in the DFW area, so you'll nobody will have any trouble finding a place.

One place not to stay pretty close to the Cotton bowl area? The Adler Hotel. I used to live really close to it and always found it kind of creepy...I don't know if its an actual hotel or not, but it looks like its right out of the 40's still today

Does the Cotton Bowl have only bleachers without backs? I've found a few pictures that make it look that way.
