Was the severity of his injury ever reported? If so, I missed it.

Re: ISU recruit Iowa's gatorade player of the year

Barkley Hill is a fantastic athlete which I've seen perform. Amazing talent there. I've got a name for everyone to look out for. Colin Bevins. This kid is a freak! A very young senior in high school who will graduate at the top of his class at the age of 17.
He stands right now 6'5" and 240lbs. He's wrestling at 285lbs this season. Where he is ranked #1 in the state. He's a freak in the weight room with untapped potential.
He has speed for that size as he runs hurdles for the school track team. I can honestly say that he'll add another 40 to 50lbs within 3 years at ISU. This kid could be one hell of a defensive lineman. I see at defensive end. Remember that name people! Colin Bevins!

The gatorade player of the year means absolutely nothing.

I like the sound of this Bevins kid. We need all the help on the D-Line we can get. Anyone have any more information on him? Are we recruiting him? Seems like an under the radar guy who nobody has ever heard of.

Correct, because this award gets handed out to any Joe Blow high-school athlete each year. Obviously it doesn't mean he is athletically gifted.

2500 yards and 40 TDs. I think the guy deserves it.

I've also heard that Hill wasn't injured other than a strained knee. All these rumors coming out of CF its hard to tell whats true.

Exactly. Do we real need any more publicity for our program that comes with landing the top player in the state? I would much rather have a player who didn't even get honorable mention. Harrison Barnes, for example, also was named the Gatorade POY and he has clearly shown that was a mistake.

Between this and picking up Porter, I'm excited.

Then I assume he's had surgery. Any word on the procedure? Seems the surgeons usually have a feel for how the graft might heal as soon as they've finished the procedure.

Would be a shame if this injury ends up jeopardizing his college career.
