    Bowl Opponent

For me the opponent excites almost as much as the location.

Which realistic team would you like to see ISU play in a bowl game?

--For me a Pac 12 team (Cal, UCLA, Washington)

    --then ACC (UNC,NC St)

--then Big 10 (Purdue, Illinois, Northwestern)

--then Big East (Rutgers, Pitt, S Florida, Cincy)

    Every other non-BCS

    Re: Bowl Opponent

I would enjoy a team from the west (Pac12)...it would be unique. I am happy to play in a bowl game...but I hope we don't get an opponent from the Big Ten. Would like to see an opponent that would seem new...

I think I'd like to play UCLA, Illinois, or South Florida the most. Really no reason.

Give me Purdue. We would stop a mudhole in them.

    1. A team we can beat. Frankly, we've played a hard enough schedule this year..I think this team deserves to play someone we can really whip.

Wouldn't mind seeing Northwestern since I watched them a lot this season.

    Re: Bowl Opponent

I was thinking about this, and I feel anyone we meet in any bowl we would be selected too, with the time for our defense to zero in, much like the OSU bye week, we should beat anyone we will play. I truly believe if the OU game had been a nuetral bowl site and not a crappy weather day, we would have been toe to toe with them. We are playing our best football right now, and arguably, playing as well as the best in our league. If we are the toughest conference and played the 2nd toughest schedule, it should not matter who we beat in the bowl.

I like playing the B1G........they beat Minny two years ago and if they can beat another, maybe the B1G when they look to expand again will see ISU as a team that has beat them up in bowl games and would be a good addition.

    Re: Bowl Opponent

My only problems with UCLA and Illinois is that they will spend the whole game talking about their coaches getting canned (even though they made bowl games). They'll use it as an excuse for them to play poorly.

I think we would match up decently against them though.

I really just want someone we can shred honestly.

I agree whole-heartedly with what you're saying, but I'd add that I'd like that team to be from a BCS conference. Beating a bad BCS team still holds more clout than beating a good MAC (for example) team.

And don't give us UCLA. The coaching uncertaintly factor makes prep too difficult.

Agree that this will happen. Probably would rather play Purdue or Northwestern for that reason.

Anyone from the B1G. Would love to go 2-0 against them this year.

I am an Iowa fan so take this with a grain of salt, but I think that ISU vs. Northwestern would be a very intriguing, competative matchup and a game worthy of my time to watch.
