    Food for thought

So I know it doesn't look likely, but lets say Georgia knocks off LSU. Okie State beats Oklahoma... It's probable that Okie State plays Alabama in the National Championship.

Now imagine if they win that game....

How much press would that ISU win be getting? I think we all need to will this to happen. Say your prayers... get out the LSU voodoo dolls...whatever you think will help.

A National Champ that was beaten by one team...ISU!

People are saying that even if LSU loses they are a lock for the national title game.

    Re: Food for thought

My question is this, if Georgia wins, can the SEC get 3 teams into the BCS?

Yes, if Georgia wins, SEC gets 3 BCS teams.

The two non-champions of their conference who are #1 and #2 in the BCS from the same conference get bids, then the conference champ gets a bid.

That's the only senario for a conference getting 3 bids.

No matter where OSU plays for their bowl game, the loss to ISU will be brought up, a highlight will be shown and CPR will get a little more accolade from the national audience.

I don't think there can be any scenario that doesn't involve LSU in the national championship game. Maybe if Georgia beats them like 80-10 it could happen, but even then.

Im just praying Georgia blows out LSU. Likely the only way. Or if voters have a change of heart and don't want to see a rematch. Either way...Okie State needs to bring it.

Taking LSU out of the national championship would be punishing them for beating Alabama and having to play an extra game, no way it happens.

    Re: Food for thought

I think the only way OSU gets in is if they beat OU by a big margin and then they have to hope that Bama being idle is enough to jump them. I hope it happens, does anyone really want to see another Bama vs LSU FG contest?

I'm really hoping the voters really start to look at the wins and see who each has played...and vote against a rematch. Good for the Big12 regardless

Like most everyone else, I don't want to see a rematch between LSU and Alabama. But my problem is, assuming LSU wins this weekend, who else deserves a spot at the title?

VA Tech hasn't played a strong enough schedule in the ACC...they're out.

Stanford didn't win their own conference...they're out.

    Boise State?...please.

I know this won't be popular around here, and I mean no offense, but there's really no question that Bama has done more over the season to earn the #2 spot than OKSt.

Look at it this way: if LSU somehow lost to Vandy (6-6) on the road in overtime 2 weeks ago, would you want them in the championship game against (now #1) Alabama? No...we'd consider that a "bad loss" and they'd be out in favor of some other team. (probably OKSt.)

Bama's record against the top teams, and the fact that its only loss was to #1 in overtime, means that as much as we don't want to see it, they should probably play for the title.

OKSt had their shot. They lost to an unranked team just 2 weeks ago. And (subjectively) didn't look that great doing it. Every other 1-loss team lost EARLIER in the season to a stronger opponent (Oregon, Clemson, TCU, etc.)

It's not SEC love or Big 12 hate. Had OKSt. held on, we wouldn't be having this discussion. But they didn't, ISU got bowl eligible, and Alabama gets their rematch.

    Fire away.
