    ISU football coaching tree

I recently relocated to Portland, and was talking football with a Ducks and OK fan. I wanted to bring up ISU's coaching tree history, but can't find any referencing articles. Does anyone have a link to past National Championship winning coaches who coached at ISU?

    Thanks!

    Re: ISU football coaching tree

Chizik (obvious one), Mack Brown, Pete Carroll, Jimmy Johnson have coached here. There could be more, but those are the ones that I know have coached here.

Didn't Johnny Majors win a National Title at Pitt after being at ISU?

I'm pretty sure Pop Warner won a national title at tOSU after leaving ISU.

Earle Bruce also comes to mind.

edit: Guess he never one a National Title at tOSU. Had some decent years there though.

He did, then went on to Tennessee where he won the SEC several times and "handed" the reigns to his longtime successor Phil Fulmer.

I would just go the Cyclones.com website and go to the football media guide. Usually, former coaches are on the last page.

Glen "Pop" Warner HC @ ISC
Joe Bugel (former NFL HC) Asst. here
    John Majors HC
    Joe Avezzano Asst
    Jimmy Johnson, Asst
    Jackie Sherrill, Asst.

    Earle Bruce HC
    Pete Carroll, Asst
    Glen Mason, Asst

John Fox, NFL HC (former Criner asst)

Mack Brown, Asst under Donnie Duncan

I am likely missing some but it is a really good list for a school that has at times fought itself on its dedication to winning football

Was DMac the coordinatior when Florida won a national title?

As far as depth goes though, the combination of White, Woodbury, Olaseni, Basabe, and Uthoff is much better than Niang, Ejim, Edozie, Gibson. Not because of the top 2, but because of the next 2 or 3. -DeanVogs

I think he was. I think he was also at South Florida when they climbed to #2 in the country before losing a few games.

He was at Florida, but he was just the DL coach. He was never their DC, fwiw.
