Moody Frosh of the Week again

Despite a horrible game against Penn State Moody followed it with some outstanding shooting against Butler. REsult? Frosh of the week again.

Thanks Acoustimac, head scratching news in a way. The Penn State game was not good for Moody. I'm sure BF preaches team play over individual accolades.....

Re: Moody Frosh of the Week again

Congrats to Nikki. It means that, on average, she had a strong week. These awards are based on stats for the week, and individual game stats are usually not provided. It also means that other Big 12 freshmen are either not playing much or not being very productive. In any case, it's a recognition of some good things and puts her in elite company, with a WBB post stating that back-to-back weekly awards have only been received by two other Cyclones, Megan Taylor and Kelsey Bolte. This is setting a high standard.

While the PSU game stats were not good, remember that she was playing against a guard who is the preseason pick for Big Ten player of the year. The PSU guard tandem had 4 fouls each and 6 steals total. Nikki had an off night offensively, but this was almost certainly the toughest defense she has faced in her life. Also the PSU guard tandem went off for 49 points against Nevada on Saturday, shooting 20-31, whereas ISU held these guards to 31 points on 10-28 shooting.

I am so looking forward to watching her and the rest of thus year's freshmen over the next 4 years.

If Nikki keeps this up, and she can develop under BF, I think she has the potential to be one of the best pg in ISU WBB history and that would be quite an accomplishment.
