    Recruiting updates

Iowa State strikes again in Florida - On The Trail Blog - ESPN

Wide receiver / defensive back / athlete T.J. Mutcherson (Tampa, Fla./Freedom) has committed to sign with Iowa State, according to multiple sources.

South Florida also recruited the 5-foot-11, 190-pound senior. Rivals.com reports that Mutcherson had offers from North Carolina and Central Michigan.

    T.J. Mutcherson - Yahoo! Sports

Recruited by Wally so I think we will see him at DB.

Hoosiers lose juco linebacker - On The Trail Blog - ESPN

Coffeyville Community College (Kan.) inside linebacker David Cooper has decommitted from Indiana, multiple sources report.

Cooper, who verballed to the Hoosiers early this month, has also been offered by Iowa State, Memphis, Louisiana-Lafayette and Eastern Michigan. He claims strong interest from Mississippi State and Tennessee.

    David Cooper - Yahoo! Sports

Only reason I list this kid is because Iowa State has an offer out to him and ISU has seen 3-4 recruits commit after the OSU game. His 2 AQ conference offers other then ISU are Minnesota and Indiana.

    Re: Recruiting updates

I believe Wally recruited Mutcherson because he was in Wally's recruiting area. I do agree he'll play DB though. As for the LB, I'd rather see us snag one of the HS kids, but wouldn't be totally against this Cooper guy.

    Re: Recruiting updates

David Cooper may be headed our way if his two offers are from Minny and Indy.

Wonder if Carl Pelini and Barney disappear, if some Nebby recruits might decommit.

Also, with Ron Zook hitting the skids I wonder if TaJarvis Fuller will reopen his commitment. He was a soft verbal to begin with and visited ISU after being commited to Illinois.

He would be a real solid safety to add to the class.

    Re: Recruiting updates

I kinda doubt we pull in Cooper. My guess is he's waiting for an SEC offer.

We don't exactly have playing time to offer a JUCO linebacker next year, unless Miller and George just aren't ready to stop the run (fill Matt T's shoes)

Regardless of whether or not he would beat out MIller or George, all three of them will still be needed to play. A lot! And after Knott and AK47 graduate all three could be starting with playing experience in 2012.

    Re: Recruiting updates

With the influx of DE's and offers still going out for more DE's it looks like Aka may make that move to OL.

I'm not sure if Aka is going to the OL. He tweeted last night that he just got off the phone with Wally and that he can't wait to play on his D next year. Of course, they may have told him that he can come in and compete for a defensive spot and then move him. (See. JaQuarius Daniels)

Ah it seems you have more substantial info than just my pure speculation.

If the news about Porter is true '12's class is looking very good. Holy Crap it is looking good.

Wow it is. Especially since the two stars, probably never even got a look from rivals.

    Re: Recruiting updates

I just saw that Evan Boehm decommited from Mizzou on the 22nd last month. Number 1 rated OG in the country. We are losing 2 big OL guys. We were already recruiting him. I think he wants to play Big 12 football because he said Mizzou going to the SEC was the reason for his decommit.

But, the reason this is noteworthy for Cyclones, Luke Knott and him play on the same team. Maybe have a little pull given all the recent commits after OSU game. Would be stellar.

Would be great to land him... but didn't he just visit Auburn last weekend?

I'm sure the staff is working on him but that's a tall order against those schools and ISU didn't even make his final cut.

Yes he did. But I found that really weird seeing has how he doesn't want to play for Mizzou in the SEC. Unless he realizes they aren't going to be the same team they are in the Big 12 in the SEC.

Some Sooner fans thought maybe it was the DUI on Pinkel that caused the decommit.
