Why isn't #5 VTech getting killed for their schedule?

VTech has one loss, Boise State has one loss.

BSU's schedule is ranked stronger than VTech's, 15-20 spots higher.

BSU's biggest win is more impressive than VTech's best win and their one loss is comparable.

VTech has had several close calls against crap teams like Duke and BSU really hasn't other than maybe an 11 point win against AFA.

I don't see any rational reason for VTech to be ranked ahead of BSU and I don't get why they aren't hammered for their schedule every single day like BSU is. The ACC conference schedule blows because it's just a bad football conference and then they padded it with 4 non-BCS crappy teams.

ISU could win 9-12 games with VTech's scheudle, probably sleep walk to 8 wins with it.

Because the mothership hates Boise. Plain and simple. They want a stupid ******* rematch in the BCS.

Agreed. The powers that be seem to think a rematch of the Snoozefest of the Century is a better idea. They're probably terrified by what would happen if a small time team like Boise were to upset an SEC team in the ship game.

I am sorry but I have no respect for BSU. There is a certain amount of grind that goes on in every major conference. People get hurt, and grinded down. It isn't quite like playing SDSU, NDSU etc....

Moral of the story, if BSU played in a legitimate conference I would respect them, and they never will because they have laxed academic requirements.

The difference between Va Tech (or teams like it) and Boise one benefits from a lofty record in a weak BCS conference, the other is the poster-boy for strong teams that get fewer chances to prove it belongs in the title-game discussion.

I think the mothership wants people to think the BCS is inclusive, so picks the highest-profile program with a built-in unrealistic chance of getting to the Big Game, just to show the system is "fair."

BTW, I don't want to see an in-conference rematch, either, unless someone can prove to me those are, with minimal doubt, the teams that should be featured.

that is exactly what the OP was trying to prove. Stanford has a terrible schedule too.

Nobody is killing them because nobody cares because they are both irrelevant since they both have no title shot. And deservedly so.

Because Va Tech isn't going to the national title.

Re: Why isn't #5 VTech getting killed for their schedule?

I love how people reference ISU to BSU's schedule and how they would sleepwalk through it. But I guarantee if State only lost 5 games in a matter of 4 or 5 years, this fan base would be ****** cause they werent able to get the chance to be in the NT game. They have proven they can beat big name teams but everyone says it was a fluke. So even though they win, BSU had no chance to gain any ranking because they play in a weak conference. BS!!

People need to pay more attention if they're going to write off teams like BSU unless they want to write off 90% of all teams to start every season.

An MWC schedule with some quality non-conference games is tougher than a Big East or ACC schedule...and often even many Pac Ten and Big Ten schedules.

The divide in college football isn't AQ conference or non-AQ conference.

22 teams play in a league that is way harder than everybody else. Those teams are the Big 12 and SEC. There's a huge quality gap.

I don't mind people raising a stink about BSU getting in to the NC game or BCS game, but they should be grouping the Big Ten and ACC in there too as none of their teams hardly ever deserving a shot even if undefeated.

We need to do away with AQ leagues completely. It's meaningless, the Big East and ACC's AQ status have been totally meaningless when two or three MWC teams have been better than their champ for practically eternity every year now.

There are 60 some "BCS" AQ teams, that total bull$hit line is drawn around those 60 some teams. If they have to draw a line of quality differentiation, draw it at Big 12/SEC and "everybody else".
