Why Do Some Feel Bad Weather Is Our Advantage ?

Several posters suggesting bad weather aids the Cyclones, like would the score have been worse with no wind / rain?

If we have to rely on bad weather to win games, we better get a new perspective.

Because we're the northernmost team in the conference. So our players are the most used to the weather - heck, half the players in the conference probably have never seen snow in their lives.

I was thinking the same thing, but for a different reason. Generally, when a team just lines it up and runs at us, we've stunk. I think with our strengths on defense at lb and db, we're better off in nice weather where a team is more apt to try to throw against us.

Then let's quit investing millions in Indoor Practice facilities so our team will really have an advantage.

I don't think anyone said "we have to rely on bad weather to win games." There is a reason why OU, UT etc. don't come to Ames in November.

Re: Why Do Some Feel Bad Weather Is Our Advantage ?

    1. Teams that throw the ball 45 times a game seem to be able to do so in any climate.
    2. Rhoads defenses have gotten to the point where even if the opposing QB puts up a lot of yards, its not a bevy of deep strikes and big plays...the kind of throws that weather could possibly impact.

Bad weather is something that will only hurt the ISU offense as Barnett grows as a passer in the system.

Hell, Cincy under Brian Kelly threw it around like mad in some nasty snow storms a few years back.
