    Mantis eats hummingbird. : pics

Kinda freaky, and further down the thread, there is a video of one taking down a mouse.

Caught one when I was younger and the damn thing slit my hand open and I was bleeding all over. Those things are ferocious but pretty awesome.

My kids and I hatched out a mantis pod... 200 miniature aliens streaming out of it is pretty darn cool. They are an interesting animal.

If you ever see a preying mantis, leave it alone. Do not bother it in any way, shape, or form. Screwing with those things is bad luck. Very, very bad luck.

Re: Preying mantis eating a hummingbird

Hoeny badgers take on lions by biting their scrotums, but I'm sure humming birs are dangerous as well.

I saw a starfish killing a lobster or crab (couldn't tell) this summer at the Boston aquarium.

Found one on our bed a few weeks ago, must have ridden inside on one of us. Needless to say I messed with that one; marriage was on the line.

Re: Preying mantis eating a hummingbird

Man that mantis is nasty. I see those all the time during the summer and don't mess with them because they are cool.

Other cool nature videos is when you see one of the big spiders take down a bird.
