    Emiah Bingley starts season

Team loses a tough one 37-34. Could be a long campaign bringing along three freshmen starters. Plus teammate Erin Dohnalek (a UNI recruit) is likely out for the season with a knee injury.

Jags hold on for tight win over Titans - Independence, MO - The Examiner

For KC area Clones, she will be in action again Monday the 28th at 7 in the Lee's Summit North tournament against Brynn Williamson's alma mater, Staley.

    Re: Emiah Bingley starts season

Just to make it clear, because the article was written by a newspaper that is pro Blue Springs. As LSW coach stated we have no kids on our team with any significant varsity playing time other than Emiah. She finished with a Game high 23 points, and unselfishly passed to a wide open shooter for the final shot we she could have easily taken the last 3. We had a ton of mishaps in the second half that led to Emiah not getting the shots she was getting in the second half. Nothing Blue Springs South did, had anything to do with it, although the newspaper tried to make it seem as such. They played a box in one on her with no other scorers on her team, and she still had a game High 23 pts. I apologize for my rant, but shes been dealing with this type of biased journalism since she's been in HS, sometimes it takes it's toll for her when reading this stuff. I appreciate you guys for your support, and she's extremely excited to bring her game to ISU. Again I apologize, just felt like the article wasn't fair, they pointed out her 17 at the half, but made it seem like she didn't score anymore after that, and leaned more towards the kid on BSS team that scored 20.

    Re: Emiah Bingley starts season

23 pts and the other team was playing a box and one. It doesn't say much about the one's defensive stopper capabilities. Em just needs to keep her chin up and her eye on the prize which is Iowa State. We can really use her scoring ability. I am hoping that she has a healthy season and keeps shooting the ball. Go Emiah...

30pts last night for Emiah, in a 6pt loss to Raytown. Keep us in your prayers it's going to be a long yr lol... A very young team, no players with Varsity experience except for Emiah unfortunately. After 5 games shes averaging 20pts per game while facing box in one defenses. Just wanted to keep you guys updated. This season if nothing else is building new character for her.

It's hard to simulate Div I defense in high school, but the attention you get being the top offensive weapon (by far) on your team can get close. It'll be good for her to learn how to deal with that, as frustrating as I'm sure it is for her.

Hey, they have won a game already, knocking off Anna Florzak's high school in the third round of the North tournament, Sion is a shadow of its former self, but at least the young ones tasted a win.

rb, is there any chance Erin D. will be back before the end of the season?

When freshman are on the varsity you usually take notice, like when Emiah made the team as a frosh. At this point, don't know if that can be said of these freshmen. Hopefully, they will build confidence as the season goes on. Should be good experience/test for Emiah as a leader.

I know Erin wants to play, but what I've heard from her is UNI doesn't want her to. Yeah when Emiah was a freshman there were more upperclassmen on the team. Even though she led the team that yr in scoring, and rebounding she had much more support. But this is really teaching herhow to shoulder the load and takeover ball games, as they were down by 18 at the half, and she scored 23pts in the second half and they only lost by 6. Erin would help tremendously...

IMO Emiah and Nikki Moody will be one heck of a awesome 1/2 combo.

I agree, the ability to play the passing lanes will make a huge difference in how the team will be able to defend. Also Blaskowsky will add another Dimension

Don't forget the a year later Jadda Buckley rolls into town. A backcourt rotation of Moody, Emiah, Blaze, and Buckley could give us the best backcourt ISU has ever had. From what I have heard Emiah maybe could play the 3 spot. The future looks bright for the Sisters.

    Re: Emiah Bingley starts season

I forgot to share with you guys that second game of this yr Emiah went over the 1,000pt mark for her career, and she is now the leading scorer in school history. She currently stands at 1,067, and she's not to far behind the rebounding record as well! I will keep you guys updated.

May she lean on the Lord when things look bleak and,
play for the joy of showing what a wonderful girl the Lord has made,
even if the Ws don't show may she have peace knowing she battled well
and made the most of her talents for her team mates and fans.

    Cyclones, all in.
