    Will Ferrell- Old Milwaukee

    SIAP. Not sure if anyone is from the Quad Cities area, but Will Ferrell is doing a series of Old Milwaukee commercials out of Davenport. Apparently he likes Old Milwaukee, so he approached them and asked if he could be their spokesman, for no pay. I think they're pretty funny. Here's some links to the commercials that have aired so far, I guess there are quite a few more that they haven't aired yet but have filmed.

    I caught a 5 lb Walleye over his left shoulder in that first clip. Heard some rumors about this a couple months ago and thought it was a joke, but now I guess it isn't.

    That was the beer of choice at ISU in the late 60s and early 70s. They claimed it was bottom of the barrel Schlitz. It was all about the price.

    As for the ads, anyone who grew up in Davenport's West End is very familiar with the Cedar Street Inn.

    As for taverns, the Cedar Street Inn is bottom of the barrel.

    That just makes it all funnier.

    the first beer I actually got drunk on and hungover as hell the next day. Won't touch it because of that...was a beer my Dad always drank when we'd listen to the Cyclones or watching the Cubs on kcrg...brings back some memories.

    those commercials were pretty funny. loved the first one about remembering Davenport - classic!

    I'm not sure about Old Milwaukee but I know PBR won a blue ribbon for a reason, so if the can says its the best, there must be something to it.
